I'm here to stay.

Henry Decoin 's metier was the film noir.Although he could make pleasant comedies ("Battement de coeur" and this one) ,he never impressed me when he tried to be Lubitsch or Wilder.

A woman (Printemps) sails towards America while her hubby (Fresnay) stays home. And one day the lonely man meets a woman who looks so much like his wife he cannot believe his eyes -it's a bit lite "vertigo"- .But the lady claims she is not his spouse .Fresnay's best friend (Blier) who has always been in love with his pal's wife falls in love with the new woman. But he is not the only one.

Actually, the husband is put to the test:it's really his true love and she wants to know if he will remain faithful to her.... or will cheat on her (with herself!) It's funny(in places).
