The Shield: Postpartum (2006)
Season 5, Episode 11
Never, in my whole life, have I been this wrecked by a TV show
31 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
(SPOILERS) The Shield is, far and away, the most engaging, emotional, addictive television show I have ever seen. The characters are brilliantly drawn and have been masterfully developed throughout the last 5 seasons. We have watched the Strike Team and those around them grow, we've gotten to know them, better than any other show I've ever watched. That level of involvement made 'Postpartum' especially devastating. We've always known Shane was a selfish dimwit who would look out for himself when the heat was on, but we never believed that he would stoop so low as to murder one of his best friends. Lem was not completely innocent, he made the same choices as the rest of the team, but he was the only one with a clear moral compass and most definitely did not deserve this. Shane must now reap the windfall of his actions, with Vic on a war path that is going to lead straight back to him. Walt Goggins and Kenny Johnson deserve Emmys for that one scene alone. January 2007 cannot get here fast enough.
