SPOILER WARNING! First let me just say that this is not a bad movie. It just has a few shortcomings. This is one of those movies that would have been fine if it were a bit shorter. Toward the end when Yuji finds out the truth about where his mother has been, the film could have two directions. Kikujiro and Yuji could have gone somewhere after the beach scene and then confronted Yuji's mother, or the movie could have skipped the entire "playing" scene with the bikers and just jumped to the last scene where Kikujiro reveals his name. Either way I would have been a lot more satisfied, because just about all of the scenes with the bikers after the angel bell scene were just awkward and didn't need to be there. I recommend this movie anyway but just keep in mind that after about an hour or so, the movie just gets weird.
