This rich, strange, exceedingly beautiful movie from Spain is full of the past and present, as three sisters reunite and the viewer discovers--slowly--what happened to their family years before. Wonderful performances, good direction from a relative novice and gorgeous location shooting in Galicia that will take your breath away combine to make BY MY SIDE AGAIN a must for foreign film aficionados (unless you're Spanish, in which case it isn't foreign and you've probably already seen it). The film was written by Manuel Gutierrez Aragon, the supremely talented writer/director who has already given us one of the great films of our new century--"Visionarios."
