This Would have Made a Good Movie of the Week
21 November 2002
With its cardboard characters, paint by numbers plot and earnest pretention, The Emperor's Club would have made a good Hallmark Hall of Fame special or Movie of the Week. Even with star power lent by a very wooden Kevin Kline in the lead role, The Emperor's Club never quite feels like a fully-realized feature film.

On one note, I think the Producers missed a great opportunity for Political Satire. When about half-way through this film I started substituting George W. Bush for Sedgewick Bell, the movie became much more entertaining and enjoyable.
