Murder, fraud and bribery, Austrian style
23 August 2001
Warning: Spoilers
In 1977 a well-known Viennese business man hires an old freighter called "Lucona", loads it with an alleged uranium milling machine and makes it sink in the Indian Ocean to collect the insurance. He is protected by several Austrian Government members. Only a determined journalist succeeds to bring him into jail.

The story actually happened in Austria. It took several years to bring the business man to justice and make three ministers resign. The business man was absolutely sure that nobody dared to open a case against him, because he knew the right people with sufficient influence. He was right - but not for good.

The journalist later became a member of the Austrian Parliament for some time, the business man died in summer 2001 in his prison cell.
