I first saw "Sooner or Later" when it was first broadcast in '79. My first impressions were that it was a simple children's movie, but, as the show progressed, I realized it was much, much more. While it is mostly about the coming of age of a young girl, Jessie's family, friends, hopes and dreams come to life in a mature and positive manner. This movie really grows on you and the satisfying ending is totally unexpected.
For those interested in the rest of the story try to find the the two books that complete the trilogy: "Waiting Games" and "Now or Never", both by Bruce and Carole Hart. Highly Recommended.
