Excellent theater conservation, one of the few cases I know where "translation" from stage into screen has worked perfectly well. The cast is BRILLIANT, don't miss the Schaubühne-Crew on his very best moment! Gorki's portrait of a bored society that turns auto-aggressive has lost no actuality and gains a dramatic tension in this mostly "silent" movie that is overwhelming.
