Review of Young April

Young April (1926)
6/10
A royal romance of mistaken identities
31 March 2003
Bessie Love plays Victoria, a student at an American finishing school, who learns that she is actually royalty, the Archduchess of Saxheim, and she must go there to marry the Crown Prince. Prince Caryl (Joseph Schildkraut) takes off for a final bachelor fling in Paris before his intended arrives. The two meet there and fall in love before learning each other's true identity. Joseph's real life father, Rudolph Schildkraut, plays his movie father, King Stefan. Bessie Love is charming and the film is feel-good fun. Viewed at Cinefest in Syracuse New York, March 2003.
