The upcoming TV series "Judge Dredd: Mega-City One" (2019) based on creator John Wagner's comic book law enforcer, will start production in 2019, thanks to a new UK studio facility, built by the "Dredd" team:
"I was told by Pinewood that there isn't any studio space left, and there won't be any space for a few years," said Jason Kingsley, CEO of video game studio Rebellion Developments, who is building a $100 million 215,000 sq ft movie studio facility near Oxford England, with eight sound stages, including one spanning 25,000 sq ft.
Kingsley, whose company Rebellion co-produced the feature "Dredd" (2012), a franchise owned by the group's comic book publishing arm "2000Ad"...
...said the decision was forced after the group was unable to start filming its own "Mega-City One" TV series.

Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul’s Giancarlo Esposito is set for a lead role opposite star Carla Gugino in Cinemax’s straight-to-series drama Jett, from Gothika scribe Sebastian Gutierrez. Also cast as series regulars are Elena Anaya, Michael Aronov, Gaite Jansen, Chris Backus, Gil Bellows and Violet McGraw. Jodie Turner-Smith, Gentry White, Lucy Walters and Mustafa Shakir are set for recurring roles.
Esposito, who has a one-year deal on Jett, is coming off a two-season series regular turn on Better Call Saul, reprising his popular Breaking Bad character of Gustavo “Gus” Fring. That includes Season 3 and the upcoming fourth season, debuting Aug. 9, which already has been shot. I hear that while Esposito has has no deal in place beyond that, he could return to the AMC series should it get renewed for a fifth season, with the production schedule of Jett allowing for that.

The Black Company is a book series that has been around for awhile. It's like Lord of the Rings but on Crack. But, not as much Crack as Game of Thrones. It's an exciting story that follows a group of mercenaries who do some of the darkest deeds in a fantasy style realm but for a good price. But things begin to change when a prophecy states that the embodiment of good is reborn.
It is definitely an exciting series that has a more modern approach and view of a fantasy realm as well as great characters and difficult moral decisions. The series is ripe for being turned into a digital media, and it looks like I'm not the only person who thinks so. David Goyer and Eliza Dushku have bought the rights to turn the series into a Television series. Dushku is also being brought on as an actress...

Fantasy books adaptation to chronicle exploits of mercenary unit in Tolkien-like world.
Im Global Television is developing The Black Company alongside Eliza Dushku’s Boston Diva Productions and David Goyer’s Phantom Four.
The show is based on Glen Cook’s 10-book action fantasy series, which Boston Diva optioned, along with the book Port Of Shadows to be published by Tor Books in 2018. Port Of Shadows takes place between books one and two of the series.
Goyer (pictured), whose previous television credits include Starz’s Da Vinci’s Demons and ABC’s Flash Forward, will serve as executive producer along with Kevin Turen under Im Global Television’s first-look deal.
Dushku, Ami Lourie and Nate Dushku will served as executive producers via Boston Diva along with Sam Maydew of Silver Lining Entertainment.
Dushku recently joined the CBS series Bull for a three-episode arc with an option to be promoted to series regular for season two. The actress...

King Kong is now headed to TV in a new series that's currently being developed by MarVista Entertainment and Im Global. The series will be called King Kong Skull Island and the report says that it will be an adaptation of DeVito ArtWorks' Skull Island and Merian C. Cooper's King Kong. The series is described as being a "serialized, contemporary continuation of the classic franchise."
The story will center around a female lead with "a multicultural ensemble that will explore both the wonders and horrors of Skull Island and its origins." I enjoyed the most recent film Kong: Skull Island. It was a lot of fun and this new project has potential to be a very entertaining series, which is "backed by the estate of King Kong's creator, a key element when rebooting any franchise."
The series will be written and produced by Jonathan Penner and Stacy Title,...

It appears that the King Kong franchise is about to make a dramatic small screen leap for a new live-action series, marking the giant ape’s serial television debut. It’s certainly exciting news, especially in the aftermath of the recent cinematic release of reboot/prequel Kong: Skull Island. However, the television series might manifest as something different.

King Kong is a busy ape.
Shortly after menacing Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson in the cineplexes, the giant gorilla is setting his sights on TV. Im Global and MarVista Entertainment are teaming up to reinvent “King Kong: Skull Island,” the companies announced in a joint release on Tuesday.
Based on DeVito ArtWorks’ “Skull Island” property and Merian C. Cooper’s “King Kong,” “King Kong Skull Island” will be the first-ever live-action TV program set in the comprehensive King Kong Universe. The series intends to cast a female lead and multicultural ensemble cast for a serialized, contemporary take on the classic tale, exploring both the marvelous and horrific sides of Skull Island and its origins.
Oscar nominees Jonathan Penner and Stacey Title (“The Bye Bye Man,” “Down on the Waterfront”) will write and executive produce alongside Dannie Festa (“Trolls”) of World Builder Entertainment.

King Kong Skull Island to feature contemporary, female-led multicultural ensemble.
MarVista Entertainment and Im Global Television have partnered to develop, co-produce and co-finance a contemporary television series reinvention of King Kong.
Jonathan Penner and Stacy Title are attached to write and serve as executive producers on King Kong Skull Island.
The project is based on the Skull Island property created by fantasy and sci-fi artist Joe DeVito’s DeVito ArtWorks, a storytelling universe authorised by the estate of King Kong creator Merian C Cooper.
Trolls executive producer Dannie Festa of World Builder Entertainment will also serve as executive producer.
The partners envision King Kong Skull Island as a serialised, contemporary continuation of Cooper’s classic 1933 monster film to feature a female-led, multicultural ensemble.
The project is unrelated to the recent Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures feature Kong: Skull Island, although the producers aim to tap into the global fanbase of Kong.

TNT is moving ahead with its "Tales From the Crypt" reboot, announcing on Thursday it has ordered a ten-episode first season of the anthology series as part of a block of programming overseen by M. Night Shyamalan.
The network also confirmed the new take will also boast a "newly reinvented" Crypt Keeper, something that was in doubt at one point. The horror block, which will feature short and longform stories, will launch on the network sometime next year.
The network also greenlit seasonal anthology pilot "Time of Death". The season-long horror tale unfolds in real time, with each episode taking viewers hour-by-hour through a single 'long night of hell' as a murderous psychopath returns to his Midwestern hometown during the annual county fair to exact revenge.
Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy will pen the script for that while Shyamalan, Mark Stern and Stuart Ford will executive produce. Each season...
