October Halloween Marathon 2020

by mykolayeriomin | created - 01 Oct 2020 | updated - 20 Nov 2022 | Public

Well, here we go again. An especially difficult year I can't quite compare to anything else in my lifetime. Hopefully, October will be an improvement, because it started on my lowest since 2014. Then again, October 2014 was that "darkest before the dawn" moment. Let's hope this one is something like that, as well.

Specific themes/clusters this year include: -Superhero TV series, especially 80's and 90's, but some other eras mixed in, as well. Mostly street level and not that known ones. I'm looking for a very specific vibes and like 4-5 shows to survive the rest of the year, so brace for a ton of pilot and not watching past them in most cases. -Comic-book theme and style movies. Not necessarily of superhero genre, oftentimes not based on any comic book at all, just inspired by an overall style. (Edit: could've been better, but there are some) -Gas Station Autumns. (Edit: interestingly not much, hope November is better in that aspect) -Invisible Man-ia. Yes, I'm watching a lot movies with invisible people, word "Invisible" in title and so on. (Edit: same with this one) -Universal Monsters. That's a lingering motif, it's just an awesome loosely connected series.

Counted: 45 -8 feature films, -13 TV episodes, -10 webisodes, -13 short films (including 3 music videos and 6 commercials) -1 podcast.

Earlier installments: 2014-2017, 2018, Halloween Hangover 2018, 2019, Halloween Hangover 2019, 2020. Next installment: Halloween Hangover Marathon 2020

1. What to Watch (2020– )
Episode: October's Most Anticipated Streaming Titles (2020)

Family, News, Talk-Show

This October, discover a horror-film anthology from Blumhouse, a heart-pounding drama series from the creator of "Big Little Lies," and a heartfelt animated movie from a Disney veteran that will take you to space.

Star: Jeff Luppino-Esposito

Votes: 61

1 October 2020: Not that grand of a start, but hey, IMDb has its 30th anniversary this very October, so why not spend three minutes on an IMDb original. Not quite anticipating any of those listed, except maybe The Mandalorian (2019). Since this show has some superhero elements it also kinda fits the vibe to have it as a main image by proxy.

2. Solaris (1972)

PG | 167 min | Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi

93 Metascore

A psychologist is sent to a station orbiting a distant planet in order to discover what has caused the crew to go insane.

Director: Andrei Tarkovsky | Stars: Natalya Bondarchuk, Donatas Banionis, Jüri Järvet, Vladislav Dvorzhetskiy

Votes: 98,234

2 October 2020: Might seem like a stretch, but it actually fits surprisingly well, given some of the suspense elements and one of the eeriest endings ever put to screen. Also just a plain great movie to start any month and a lovely autumn setting in some of the scenes.

7 October: Catching up, because several things got me off the rails on a weekend and then at the start of the week. And since Cinemassacre is uploading old episodes of Cinemassacre's Monster Madness (2007) on their second channel, why not watch those?

7. You Know What's Bullshit (2007– )
Episode: Inflatable Decorations (2020)

TV-MA | 6 min | Comedy

Add a Plot

Director: James Rolfe | Star: James Rolfe

Votes: 30

7 October: Halloween special of one of my favorite web-series, You Know What's Bullshit (2007)? Amazing and kinda unexpected surprise. I don't laugh too often nowadays, but this one cracked me up on multiple occasions and the runtime is 6 minutes!

8. The Dream 2 (2019)

47 min | Action, Comedy, Horror

The direct sequal to the movie "The Dream" A guy who brutally have murdered by an extraordinary creature just got his life back - but not for free. Can he escape from the terror of his dreams or he going to get stuck in it?

Director: Tom Rounbon | Star: Tom Rounbon

Votes: 12

10 October: I was delighted to see that many movies participating in September installment of First-Time Filmmaker Sessions (alongside myself, btw), especially in the "Features" programme are a great fit for Halloween Marathon. In this particular case I was rather surprised and impressed by this inspired no budget effort. There are some flaws (very much forgivable given that this is a micro-feature debut), of course, but there are also rather impressive cinematography, sound design and acting. Music is not half-bad either, not to mention that it plays some part in the plot. Will look at Tom Rounbon more closely and certainly be on the lookout for his other works.

10 October: Okay, this one is not really Halloween-related in any way. The most adjacent it got was when "What, no tip?" made me thinking that "What, no dip?" as uttered by Dracula in a commercial is a play on those words. I don't know why it never occurred to me before. Otherwise another good feature from First-Time Filmmaker Sessions, kinda like a mxiture between slice-of-life mumblecore movies and buddy cop ones (mumblecop?). Rather slow, but enjoyable.

10. The Darkness (2021)

94 min | Horror

Dorcha tells a curious talk about Death, Demon and Deception channelled through Changelings, Witch craft and everything in between..

Director: Tharun Mohan | Stars: Amelia Eve, Katherine Hartshorne, Cyril Blake, Adam Bond

Votes: 231

10 October: Yet another great one from First-Time Filmmaker Sessions. Very solid, atmospheric and interesting Gothic possession story. Impeccably shot, edited and acted. Very solid directorial debut.

11. Love Spoons (2018)

69 min | Crime, Drama, Romance

College student Addison has an obsession with wood carving, and women. The exterior stress of reality poses a psychological breakdown. His obsessions cause a destructive path, that leads to his psychosis.

Director: Austin Stevenson | Stars: Austin Stevenson, Shannon Kiely, Bryce Cardiff, Caitlin Cusano

Votes: 6

10-11 October: TBA.

12. Hammer Boys (2019)

49 min | Comedy, Horror, Thriller

Abe's obsession with being cool leads him down a psychopathic road of murder and chaos, while still maintaining a laugh.

Director: Austin Stevenson | Stars: Austin Stevenson, Dane Kevin Cook, Ryan Havner

Votes: 7

11 October: TBA.

13. I Need You Dead! (2020)

Not Rated | 107 min | Comedy, Horror

After a moment of total teenage angst, a young punk finds himself at odds with a psychedelic monster of his own creation.

Director: Rocko Zevenbergen | Stars: Estevan Muñoz, Sean Arlo, Ada Hurtado, Lloyd Kaufman

Votes: 85

11 October: Simply amazing. Without spoiling too much for those who haven't seen... It packs a very unexpected punch of context, sense and meta commentary. Piecemeal/collage approach is actually fully resonant with the plot which is like witnessing a roof colliding onto oneself in slow motion. Also just the type of movie I need to get going with my own filmmaking.

14. Hall & Oates: Your Imagination (1982 Music Video)

4 min | Music

Daryl Hall, John Oates and session musicians perform "Your Imagination" in several airport locations.

Director: Mick Haggerty | Stars: Hall & Oates, Daryl Hall, John Oates, Mickey Curry

Votes: 9

14 October: This definitely counts as a Halloween entry. Firstly there's scene with ghostly, half-transparent Daryl Hall floating over footage. Then there's rather creepy morphing of Daryl Hall's and John Oates which actually got me by surprise because I forgot it was there. Finally, there's overall subtle surrealism of this video which actually begs a few questions on how it is reflective of the song. Although don't get me wrong: I love both the song and the video to pieces.

15. Yandex: Naidiotsya vsio! (2000 Video)

1 min | Short, Comedy, Crime

An intelligent man sees a wanted criminal poster and than encounters a familiar face.

Director: Andrey Lobov | Stars: Ivan Shorin, Artemiy Lebedev

15 October: An incredibly unnerving commercial (so it thematically fits into marathon without any question), which spared me twenty years before, but caught up with me now, finding its way to my recommended videos on YouTube after Artemiy Lebedev uploaded every single commercial he ever was in. Totally unrecognizable here as a scarred criminal, Lebedv is hardly the main attraction though: editing, music and direction make commercial a very memorable one, if contextually why is this a search engine commercial is a tough question.

16. Savelovskiy: Chempionat po Shopingu (2008 Video)

1 min | Short, Comedy, Game-Show

Artemiy Lebedev hosts the gaming PC building championship.

Star: Artemiy Lebedev

15 October: Okay, this one is a tie with a previous entry rather than standalone marathon entry, but hey, the point of any marathon is to have thematic clusters. An oddly cozy commercial, this one.

17. Highway to Heaven (1984–1989)
Episode: Highway to Heaven: Part 1 (1984)

Not Rated | 60 min | Drama, Fantasy

Jonathan Smith, an angel, arrives at a retirement home to help not only the occupants but also an employee named Leslie Gordon. However, Leslie's brother Mark, a jaded and bitter former police officer, is suspicious of Jonathan.

Director: Michael Landon | Stars: Michael Landon, Victor French, John Bleifer, Mary McCusker

Votes: 330

16 October: I finally got to seeing all those superhero pilots piling up in my mental driveway. This one is definitely something I want to binge... Except October is not the time for binge-watching, too much work to do in a short period of time. Watching pilots and picking what I will binge, once I've got the time to do that in October, that's what I'm sticking with. And I'm also sticking with this show, because it is awesome. Like, for the show made in the 1980's it holds up incredibly and I can watch it anytime.

18. Highway to Heaven (1984–1989)
Episode: Highway to Heaven: Part 2 (1984)

Not Rated | 60 min | Drama, Fantasy

When Mark Gordon's investigation starts getting too close, Jonathan must reveal his true identity and purpose to Mark in order to successfully complete his assignment.

Director: Michael Landon | Stars: Michael Landon, Victor French, John Bleifer, Mary McCusker

Votes: 267

16 October: I mean, it's a two-part pilot, so I allowed myself first two episodes, technically. Those are just... So oddly fulfilling and inspiring. Michael Landon's passion project, no doubt about that after seeing a total of three episodes: it just oozes personality, style and statement. One I can get behind totally. Also, it just occurred to me Landon was born on Halloween. Odd.

19. Stalker (1979)

Not Rated | 162 min | Drama, Sci-Fi

85 Metascore

A guide leads two men through an area known as the Zone to find a room that grants wishes.

Director: Andrei Tarkovsky | Stars: Alisa Freyndlikh, Aleksandr Kaydanovskiy, Anatoliy Solonitsyn, Nikolay Grinko

Votes: 144,709 | Gross: $0.23M

16 October: Very dream-like and unique. If other Andrei Tarkovsky movies are meditative then this one could be considered a meditation itself. Logic just shuts down several times through the movie, which I suppose is a very intentional effect. I saw Stalker several times before in my childhood, but seeing it on the big screen in adulthood suggests that my subconscious absorbed way more from those initial viewings than conscious memory.

20. IMDbrief (2018– )
Episode: 5 Forgotten Gems from 1990 (2020)

Short, News

30 years later these critical hits still have our attention, and they should have yours, too! On this IMDbrief, we break down 5 Forgotten Gems from 1990.

Star: Alex Logan

Votes: 22

17 October: Lovely little webisode by IMDb itself for its 30th Anniversary. Very solid recommendations, of which I've seen two and really want to see the other three.

21. Carmencita (1894)

Not Rated | 1 min | Documentary, Short

Performing on what looks like a small wooden stage, wearing a dress with a hoop skirt and white high-heeled pumps, Carmencita does a dance with kicks and twirls, a smile always on her face.

Director: William K.L. Dickson | Star: Carmencita

Votes: 2,049

17 October: Another one with a little Halloween relevance, but hey, on the special occasion of IMDb's 30th anniversary, what best way to celebrate than watching something with "tt0000001" number in the database (which likely means it might have been the first title added to the system, ever).

22. Street Hawk (1985)
Episode: Pilot (1985)

TV-PG | 60 min | Action, Crime, Mystery

Injured motorcycle cop, Jesse Mach, is chosen to test ride a top secret government, ultra-fast attack motorcycle called 'Street Hawk', and is partnered with its creator, Norman Tuttle, to combat urban crime in Los Angeles.

Director: Virgil W. Vogel | Stars: Rex Smith, Jayne Modean, Richard Venture, Joe Regalbuto

Votes: 102

19 October: Very impressive and ahead of its time superhero pilot. Definitely putting the series on a future binge among with Highway to Heaven (1984). Reminded me a lot of The Flash (1990) (which is a very high praise on my part) and it's especially so in how grounded, street level and surprisingly dark it is. Production values and effects are good, but series has an even stronger asset in the cast: Rex Smith oddly enough played at least two superheroes with a disability (he was also a very impressive Daredevil in The Trial of the Incredible Hulk (1989)) and it hits the spot with me considering I have a mild disability myself. Plus, Christopher Lloyd is a great starter villain (well, as a first serious threat, but even one of the first criminals Street Hawk encounters is portrayed by Brian Thompson).

23. Cinemassacre's Monster Madness (2007–2023)
Episode: Best Horror By Decade (2020)

TV-MA | Documentary

Covering the 1920s all the way to today.

Director: James Rolfe | Stars: Mike Matei, James Rolfe

Votes: 15

19 October: It's almost an hour-long episode, but man I will quite likely rewatch it again just to add every single movie connection. Great musings on horror movie history there and super solid picks.

25. Universal Studios Florida: Now Open 9AM to 9PM (1990 Video)

1 min | Short, Adventure, Horror

A commercial for Universal Studios Florida theme park in Orlando, filled with movie references.

19 October: As featured in Classic Creepy Commercials, Volume 28!, this commercial has enough cool horror tie-ins for a small research. The fact that there was a ride that used elements of The Fly (1986) alone was a big surprise to me.

26. Honey Nut Cheerios: The Addams Family (1994 Video)

1 min | Animation, Short, Comedy

Honey Nut Cheerios mascot BuzzBee challenges Wednesday Addams for a race in The Addams Family Mansion.

Star: Billy West

Votes: 47

19 October: As featured in Classic Creepy Commercials, Volume 28!. Anything with the Addams Family is a great fit for Halloween Marathon!

27. WPIX, Filmation: Bust the Baddies Win the Goodies (1986 Video)

1 min | Animation, Short, Adventure

A commercial for a Halloween contest in which audience should've spot the pictures of five villains during the airing of Ghostbusters (1986).

Star: Doug Paul

19 October: As featured in Classic Creepy Commercials, Volume 28!. So, this is my introduction to Filmation Ghostbusters franchise and I'm not that impressed, although how could I with a small commercial?..

28. KPDX Fox 49, Award Video: Freddy's Holiday Party Contest (1988 Video)

1 min | Short, Comedy, Horror

A commercial for a context in which a winner could have won a videotape of A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988) and a Freddy Krueger party kit.

Stars: Robert Englund, Lisa Wilcox

19 October: As featured in Classic Creepy Commercials, Volume 28!. A really interesting piece of movie history there, showcasing how big Freddy Krueger was in late 1980's.

29. Kung Fu (1972–1975)
Episode: The Way of the Tiger, the Sign of the Dragon. (1972)

TV-PG | 60 min | Adventure, Drama, Western

After avenging the death of his teacher, a Shaolin monk flees China to the American West and helps people while being pursued by bounty hunters.

Director: Jerry Thorpe | Stars: David Carradine, Barry Sullivan, Albert Salmi, Wayne Maunder

Votes: 1,223

21 October: Stone-cold classic of American television. Lovely, if for very specific mood: after all it's a hybrid of western, martial arts and superhero genres with hints of... Pretty much everything. I'm not sure this show is that much bingeable, and while I loved the pilot, I decided to see the first regular episode, to see and understand where it goes.

30. Kung Fu (1972–1975)
Episode: King of the Mountain (1972)

TV-PG | 60 min | Adventure, Drama, Western

Caine looks after a newly orphaned boy and a young, pretty rancher while a bounty hunter atop a nearby mountain silently observes his opportunity to pounce.

Director: Jerry Thorpe | Stars: David Carradine, Brandon Cruz, Lara Parker, John Saxon

Votes: 269

21 October: A very solid regular episode with no drops in quality whatsoever (probably even slight pacing improvement, I'd say!) and a lot of consistency (at this point I am used that pilots usually have "early installment weirdness" and some elements absent in later episodes). John Saxon is a nice, unexpected guest star as episode's antagonist, bounty hunter nicknamed Raven. That ominous nickname and the fact that it was originally an October release makes for somewhat more tie-ins with Halloween than original pilot. I'm still not sure this show is for a careless superhero binge I'm planning, though. I guess I'll try some more either this month or during November.

31. Those Old Trailers (2010)

7 min | Short, Comedy, Horror

Trailers for the three exploitation films made by obscure (actually fictional) film producer Samuel L. Bronckostein.

Directors: Albert Marenstein, Oscar Scholz, Askold Tutylopydirskiy, Mykola Yeriomin | Stars: E.S. Tribes, Mykola Yeriomin

Votes: 18

22 October: Absolutely unplanned rewatch of my own old short film, but since I was inspired to do so for a project, I gave it a pass.

32. Those Old Trailers: Deleted Scenes (2016 Video)

2 min | Short, Action, Comedy

Deleted scenes from Those Old Trailers (2010), including a space mercenary attack and a fictitious web-series "Obscure Film Critic".

Director: Mykola Yeriomin | Stars: E.S. Tribes, Mykola Yeriomin

22 October: Also rewatched those. Believe it or not, it is an accidental release, as I was just originally planning to share the edit via e-mail with a friend to discuss a few possibilities. Instead of "Unlisted" I marked it as "Public" on YouTube and I've only discovered this when the friends noted it.

33. MacGyver (1985–1992)
Episode: Pilot (1985)

TV-PG | 49 min | Action, Adventure, Crime

An underground lab is destroyed by a mysterious explosion. MacGyver is sent in to rescue the trapped scientists and stop a deadly chemical leak.

Director: Jerrold Freedman | Stars: Richard Dean Anderson, Michael Lerner, Dana Elcar, Paul Stewart

Votes: 2,299

23 October: Well, it grabs your attention immediately and is very uplifting. I might pick it up for a future binge, because it has a spiritual element about it which just works for me.

34. MacGyver (2016–2021)
Episode: The Rising (2016)

TV-14 | 43 min | Action, Adventure, Drama

Special agents Angus MacGyver and Jack Dalton join forces to recover a missing bio-weapon, with the ability to destroy hundreds of thousands of people with one single drop.

Director: James Wan | Stars: Lucas Till, George Eads, Sandrine Holt, Tristin Mays

Votes: 1,388

23 October: Not sure I'll be picking the remake up for a binge. It had quite a few pleasantly surprising moments, but it is also kind of a very different show. I can agree with Richard Dean Anderson that it had less ingenuity and more action, but as of the pilot it also kinda has less helping people, especially compared to brilliant original pilot. I really wonder whether Unaired Pilot is closer to the original roots, but we might never know until it surfaces somewhere. I appreciate James Wan's direction (kinda forgot he's affiliated with this one, to be honest).

35. The Pretender (1996–2000)
Episode: Pilot (1996)

TV-14 | 43 min | Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi

Jarod is the new doctor at a NYC hospital, trying to expose negligence and a cover-up that led to a young boy being paralyzed.

Director: Rick Wallace | Stars: Michael T. Weiss, Andrea Parker, Patrick Bauchau, Stephen Tobolowsky

Votes: 262

24 October: When I watched this show in my childhood, I kinda liked it. Kinda. I was not expected to be practically blown away by the pilot and suddenly wanting way more of that. Fixed future binge, that's for sure.

36. The President Show (2017–2018)
Episode: Lindy West (2017)

TV-14 | 21 min | Comedy, Talk-Show

The president plays a spooky round of Prez Your Luck, has a terrifying encounter with the Muellerman, and sits down with "Shrill" author Lindy West.

Director: Jodie Alexandra Taylor | Stars: Anthony Atamanuik, Peter Grosz, Rob Lathan, Lindy West

Votes: 30

25 October: Stumbling suddenly into this Halloween Special of a short-lived show I've never heard before I decided to watch it. Foremost, because I'm a researcher in the fields of political science and media but also, of course, because it's a Halloween special. I was initially very skeptical, because nothing dates quite as fast as political humor. Wisely enough, in this particular case it was intermixed with some surprising and clever film and TV references. I'm not sure it will hold up just as well a few years from now (and it's already three years old), but hey. It might become an interesting and funny relic, at least.

37. John Doe (2002–2003)
Episode: Pilot (2002)

TV-14 | 43 min | Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi

A man awakens on an island only to discover that he has no memory of who he is. Without knowing his identity, he travels to Seattle and finds out that not only is he an amnesiac but that he... See full summary »

Director: Mimi Leder | Stars: Dominic Purcell, Jayne Brook, John Marshall Jones, Sprague Grayden

Votes: 828

25 October: Why on Earth I've never heard of this show until recently?.. I've became a huge fan of Dominic Purcell thanks to his role of Mick Rory and, of course I knew he has much more range than that. He still blew me away, completely selling a character that would give Sherlock Holmes a run for his money with instant intuitive erudition on any possible aspect of anything. It is also really hard to adjust how many voices this man has. Overall concept of the show is also great, very The Pretender (1996)-like. I virtually can't imagine why the show never made it past Season 1. Will very much try to binge at some point, hopefully and/or maybe soon.

38. The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show (2013– )
Colin Farrell on How He Feels About the Return of Batman Filming (2020 Podcast Episode)

12 min | Game-Show, News, Sport

Ian Dempsey interviews Colin Farrell about Special Olympics Ireland (of which Farrell is an ambassador) and renewed filming of The Batman (2022).

Stars: Ian Dempsey, Colin Farrell

27 October: Since podcasts are now eligible on IMDb, why not include them on the marathon, if it's kind of relevant. And to me Batman and Halloween are always mutually relevant, so here it is. Discovered this Irish podcast from this episode and I'm now interested on how certain themes are covered from the perspective of Ireland. Will listen to it more.

39. Phil Collins: In the Air Tonight (1981 Music Video)

5 min | Music, Mystery

The music video for "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins.

Director: Stuart Orme | Star: Phil Collins

Votes: 662

27 October: Hearing it in the old TV recording sparked the need to listen to the song and re-watch the video. Just as the lyrics, eluding the meaning get straight into your subconscious, so is the music video's expertly crafted imagery, still holding up amazingly. I wonder whether it was inspired a bit by Andrei Tarkovsky.

40. Oleh Liashko: Ne vidstupay! (2020 Music Video)

6 min | Action, Comedy, Music

Caped superhero and politician (Oleg Lyashko) returns from retirement to use pitchfork against corruption.

Star: Oleg Lyashko

27 October: Oleg Lyashko is as much of a showman as he is a politician, but I often think he could've been better off as a former. A catchy song in a local pop tradition plus a goofy but uplifting superhero music video.

41. Asdfmovie (2008– )
Episode: Asdfmovie13 (2020)

TV-PG | 3 min | Animation, Comedy

High five-hundreds, baby guns and talking marshmallows in Tomskas 14th. asdfmovie

Director: Thomas Ridgewell | Stars: Chris Alex, Christopher Bingham, Eddie Bowley, Rik Bowley

Votes: 120

27 October: Good fit for Halloween. Humor is as dark as it is at times utterly abstract and surreal.

42. Charmed (2018–2022)
Episode: Pilot (2018)

TV-PG | 42 min | Drama, Fantasy, Mystery

After the tragic death of their mother, Mel and Maggie learn of a secret sibling, Macy, and discover they exhibit new abilities.

Director: Brad Silberling | Stars: Melonie Diaz, Madeleine Mantock, Sarah Jeffery, Ser'Darius Blain

Votes: 1,374

28 October: Seems to be an unpopular opinion (although, the show already has two seasons and an upcoming third one, so that's debatable), but I kinda like it. Surprisingly, it has bits and pieces of original atmosphere here and there (trust me, I've been a fan of original Charmed (1998) since freaking 1998), the characters are kind of relatable (especially since they're in academia but that's honestly a bonus angle and always was one), acting is really okay with promise of getting better (either that or I'm very much acclimatized to CW after all the Arrowverse shows) and there is a nice superhero term drop. Since the third episode is a Halloween special I'll watch another two and then decide whether I want to watch further and when. Solid pilot, anyhow.

43. Charmed (2018–2022)
Episode: Let This Mother Out (2018)

TV-14 | 40 min | Drama, Fantasy, Mystery

After getting a message from the spirit board to not trust Harry, the sisters are conflicted and ultimately concoct a plan.

Director: Vanessa Parise | Stars: Melonie Diaz, Madeleine Mantock, Sarah Jeffery, Ser'Darius Blain

Votes: 963

28 October: The CW formula starts to sprinkle soap opera-like elements into the mix, as is the law for their progression of Season 1 of any and all of their superhero shows. Not the worst thing, but nothing new either. Rupert Evans is trying not to be a large ham, but it's hard to, so he's delightfully out there in some of the scenes. The demon of the week is not exactly impressive.

44. Charmed (2018–2022)
Episode: Sweet Tooth (2018)

TV-14 | 42 min | Drama, Fantasy, Mystery

The sisters devise a plan to find a murdering demon while still taking instruction from Harry on how to use their magic.

Director: Michael A. Allowitz | Stars: Melonie Diaz, Madeleine Mantock, Sarah Jeffery, Ser'Darius Blain

Votes: 836

30 October: Genuinely enjoyable kind of old-school Halloween Special I never quite expected from this series. Lots of gore and blood (for mainstream TV, still impressive), lots of Halloween context, a nice little nod to Sweet Tooth (2018).

45. Vedro (2013– )
Episode: The Pumpking and the Pump Kings (2020)

8 min | Comedy, Horror, Sci-Fi

2020 Halloween Special: Local Television continues to deteriorate into a stream of Halloween-related corrupted video data.

Directors: Mykola Yeriomin, Yaroslav Kozak | Stars: Yaroslav Kozak, Kirill Mieliekiestsev, Mikhail Bondarev, Leonid Syplyi

31 October: I rarely add my own productions to lists like that but hey, this one has a co-director and this is one of the exceptions. Surprisingly smooth special, if conception and writing took a lot and I still trimmed and filmed pick-ups on that very day!

46. Good Bad Flicks (2010– )
Episode: Oasis of the Zombies (2022)

Comedy, News

Good Bad Flicks watches the remake of Zombie Lake called Oasis of the Zombies. Directed by Jess Franco.
