"Bagul!!!" Excellently written series of movie reviews done by one very talented guy. Underrated.
This is one of my favourite internet shows about movie reviews. I always love watching the newest episodes right away and I find Good Bad Flicks to be a cut above many similar shows mainly because I like the narrator, he makes me neither want to smack him sometimes for being too smug or just turn the programme off after five minutes because he's too loud and obnoxious. To me Cecil is a very likable and witty guy and it's like he's not even trying to be, he's just to me a really a good talker and is easy to listen to and has a perfect voice for this kind of medium. He's communicative with his fans and will sometimes take suggestions for episodes. He clearly does his research and often includes fascinating trivia about a movie's background and he encourages viewers to not only laugh at the terrible quality of some of the films but also to develop an appreciation for the struggles of those who made them become a reality. One of my favourites is the "Exploring Mosquito" episode, because he talks about the late Gunnar Hansen's career and passing and makes it into a heartfelt little tribute to the man. Despite the name which fits the show like a glove, very few of the reviews are ever about films that could be considered so bad they're good, at least not to me. They're mostly about obscure and retro horror sci-fi and action movies that you may or may not have heard of. He's also recently started doing tiny reviewettes on current popular movies that have just come out. I don't know about feeling 'fancy' but good or bad I'm always satisfied, I value the guy's opinion, he knows my kind of movies. I've gotten several of the flicks that he's talked about in order to see for myself and enjoyed most of them a lot, such as Sleepaway Camp, I Come in Peace, Bad Channels, and Pandora. Even if I know of and don't like the movie he's talking about I still like listening to him talk, he's very inoffensive and isn't trying to be anything other than a guy just giving his opinion and I respect that. He's actually got criticism for doing a lot of reviews where he liked the movie, which was one of the most disheartening and pathetic things I'd ever heard of. I've had my fill of ranters, just when the f**k did expressing your opinion about something in a positive way become something to be sneered at? And he doesn't like everything anyway. He's definitely not a fan of cheap jump-scare endings! He of course mainly does movies, but sometimes he does different stuff like tell cool scary stories from his personal life or awesome stuff about all the references in Cabin in the Woods or Silent Hill, those were brilliant. He's been struggling with the stricter rules on Youtube recently but he still manages to put out several fantastic exploring reviews a month, he's one that definitely deserves all the support for his channel that he can get! Anyway I've prattled on enough, I find him a joy to listen to and his reviews terrific, I'd happily recommend you check it out. Keep up the good work man.
