This is a list of movies I remember from browsing through my local Hollywood Video as a child. As you can tell I spent a lot of time in the 'horror' aisle. I haven't seen very many of these and the cover arts bring back a lot more memories than the movies themselves.
WARNING! Some descriptions may contain SPOILERS though I will try to steer away from them as much as possible.

1. Vicious (2003 Video)
R | 90 min | Action, Horror, Sci-Fi
A group of campers encounter a brutal government agent whom uses them as bait to capture a vicious creature, a failed government experiment, loose in the woods.
Director: Matt Green | Stars: Tom Savini, Brian Bremer, Melanie Parker, Bill Moseley
Votes: 258
I rented this one when I was a kid and hated it. As the years passed It faded from my memory completely except for one single unforgettable scene: an army soldier getting dragged away by the worst CGI monster I'd ever seen. The memory led to an obsession, and eventually I knew I had to have this in my collection even if the rest of the movie was absolute garbage just to know if the monster was as bad as I remember...
Well, it certainly is a sight to behold. But I'm older now. I'm wiser now. I crawl through the sewers of cinema on a regular basis and enjoy every minute. So I can't say the monster is the worst I've seen (it is fucking terrible though, don't be mistaken) and they use an animatronic model during close-up scenes which actually looks pretty good.
The film overall is not very good. For what it is, it's not terrible, and they somehow managed to drag Bill Moseley AND Tom Savini into this and both are great as usual. An especially amusing scene is when a fisherman unknowningly enters the "government testing zone" which is closed off by a driveway gate and a BEWARE OF DOG sign.

R | 81 min | Horror

Director: Adam Minarovich | Stars: Adam Minarovich, Jeremy Busbee, Michael Moore, Catherine Minarovich
Votes: 522
An amusing piece of shit with an amazing theme song. Full of hilariously terrible one-liners, a bunch of goobers pretending to be badasses, and clumsy action scenes with occasionally impressive stunt-work. One of these scenes merely consists of a vampire hunter shooting two arrows at the protagonist and then giving up, and seems to exist merely so the protagonist can show off his sick backflip. For flaws that hurt the movie rather than help it, we have the terrible camerawork and lighting, and I felt the pacing could have been a bit tighter.
Better than I expected but not as good as I hoped.
4. Aquanoids (2003)

Pretty fun B-movie dragged down by underwhelming Aquanoid attacks consisting of a camera that rapidly flashes back and forth between indiscernible shots.

Director: Gregory Lemkin | Stars: Jennifer Lee Wiggins, Ocean Marciano, Chris Facey, Vaz Andreas
Votes: 789
A group of inmates and a newly appointed prison guard are trapped inside the prison after a particularly unusual inmate (who looks like a member of One Direction joined an early '00s nu-metal band) transforms into a gigantic hairy demon and slaughters the rest of the guards. Will the ragtag group of survivors escape in time to avoid becoming demon food?...
... Well, if that were the case, this wouldn't be much good. I mean... it isn't much good, but the fun gore and cool monster effects are the only things keeping it watchable. Also worth mentioning is a funny, completely out-of-left-field character reveal involving an inmate who reacts violently when another inmate jokes about his testicles. Other than that this is sub-par Asylum nonsense.

I have no idea why I used to like this crap slasher that uses every cliche in the book from the obnoxious, poorly acted teenagers looking for sex to the silly twist about the killer's identity.
A couple of okay gore scenes and Tiffany Shepis playing a visually memorable killer are the only things this stinker has going for it.
