These people just met and now working a heist together?
taqmobile22 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I'm trying to like this show. It has promise, but the stories are strung together so loosely I find myself more annoyed. Rose and the other 2 guys have literally just met these diner people and after seeing how they throw what may be one of their own out to the zombies, they should have little trust in them. Yet moments later, without any explanation or a scene where they meet and greet and talk about a heist, they are suddenly just cool with it. We have no backstory on how these people know about this weapons cache, or how many soldiers are watching it. Now we have the pretty while milf Rose who's main focus should be getting to the stadium to find her daughter but is being walked in under the premise of being a prostitute and allows herself to be locked in a room with a bunch of junkies and strong possibility that she will be raped (which then starts to happen). Meanwhile what about all the junkies? anyone of them could die from an OD and kill everyone else inside.

Then we find out that it's a drug warehouse and also an underground techno club run by militia? Da fuq? And people are just hanging out dancing while zombies are roaming the streets and everyone is struggling to evacuate?

Who writes this nonsense?

So Many Questions
ammodias9 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed the usual suspense of this episode, however I have no idea why there was a damn rave in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, how did they get there? Was it the outpost the guy from the diner spoke of? Did he tell the couple how to get there? How did they know the layout as well as they seemed to? And what was the point of the guards on the roof (assuming they don't appear in the next episode) as they did nothing!

Sloppy, but still fun
abbbe-9122 April 2019
Doesn't really make any sense to show the audience how they most probably took a car to downtown from the diner but still, the script is very shallow in terms of character building. Would love to have a back story on why carmen and manny knew so much about the gun stash / club. (which also ruined this episode because why would you hear chatter in the background of a seemingly deafening underground club? Also why the hell are the extras old people who cant dance?)

Instead we got bickering and arguing about the most banal things back at the diner. Show more in depth how the characters connect. Another example would be why would rose rescue lance? They have absolutely no connection, didnt he pass out in school or something? She did abandon him once after all..

Silent plan
stalnuhhin13 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
First of all, I love, how silent this episode was. Almost no words.

Second, I love that writers don't try to explain everything for hundreds times, like it usually happens. So in the beginning we don't understand what's the plan and where they are, but later everything goes on its place. So Manny and Carmen are well known by the "club", and they bring there Rose as new slave just to let the other part of their new team inside. The main plan is to get guns from there. Also Rose finds Lance their.

Third, the cool thing is that zombies are way stronger than people. In previous episode they had troubles to get outside: 5 men vs 2 zombies. In this one - 7 versus much more warriors. But they had plan (with zombies involved)!

And the last one - now they are team! But it seems that not much of them will be alive in the end of season.

You can be Z nation or walking dead, you can't be both.
darkangel5-732-71529020 April 2019
I'm five episodes in at this point. There have been some really good moments. And a few train wrecks (episode 3). I just get the feeling It can't decide if it wants to be a serious drama or a campy show. Either is fine. But not both.

You just need to imagine
darth_weyder4 September 2019
Warning: Spoilers
People may get confused about the episode. But that is what i think They intended to do. Last episode Manny and his girlfriend talked about an outpost where they can get some guns and here they are. It is not needed to explain where they are, what are they doing it, how they got there or else. People nowadays want things very detailed giving no place for thinking or imagination. I surely see them talking that the people in the outpost dont give anything for free. They need a plan to enter, get the guns and leave. I see none of the women wanting to be a sex slave. So everything was made up. It doesnt matter if they just met, it is the only way to arrive at the stadium. Those soldiers has nothing to do with the outpost. Probably next episode they will appear. That is why the series are so boring nowadays, they need to explain every detail.

They left out the weeks of recon and planning
duzt-528048 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I started rewatching this series once S2 was released because of several positive reviews from friends. I can't even say this is the only episode that does this, but this might be the most "dramatic" twist from out of nowhere. It's as if someone said once that they need some weapons and then they cut to this episode where there's a fully developed plan that they execute to perfection aside from one person turning at the end escape run. In a show like this almost nothing goes according to plan, which you'd expect in the beginnings of a zombie apoc. It's just baffling at times how little communication there is between the characters. In the next episode one of the members of the group simply calls his dog over and leaves, he never talked anyway and didn't tell the group anything, he just left and was never seen again. Some of this is baffling.

Lots of action, but I feel like I missed something
cherishannmarie27 July 2020
This episode was really tense and the acting was great. I just felt kind of confused since, there was little to no talking. How did they come up with this great plan?!

Here's the plan, we have no plan, ok? GO TEAM!
donttouchmeprimate25 July 2019
I know I know, we were all like "WTF"? But look at it this way, they have a certain amount of time to show everybody's version of events, I THINK the time lines matched up and there were a few humerous (probably not intended to be) parts in there along with some suspense.

I'm glad I started watching it. Not a bad show.

what was the plan exactly?
Rob-O-Cop12 April 2019
This episode didn't make a whole lot of sense following on from the last episode where they'd all just escaped the diner lock in with 2 zombies they couldn't manage to get under control with 5 people. Now they're executing a daring raid on some mythical weapons stash where the zombie apocalypse doesn't appear to be much of a concern and they also run a side line in bars and nightclubs, cos nothing speaks more loudly 'secure weapons stash' than a pumpin' night club vibe. The whole thing is lit so darkly it doesn't really matter too much what's going on cos you can't really see it. The thing culminates in them triggering a bullet storm that gets hundreds of people killed via direct hit and zombie outbreak. This episode made no real sense following the small personal stories of the previous episodes. hopefully it's not going to keep on this new tangent.

Even the Walking Dead has not made such a great scene
desley_devries26 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Spoilerfree: I kinda felt annoyed during the first part of the episode. Too many questions I had to ask. Setting of the scene did not make sense.

Spoiler below!!

The scene where Sun was being chased by the infected was so very tense. This woman is a great actor. I felt the anxiety of being trapped in there.

Weapons Stash
ZegMaarJus29 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This Episode begins with Rose, Spears, Sun, William, Manny, Carmen and Earl, they are preparing a heist on a weapons stash. Rose, Spears, Sun, William, Manny and Carmen enter the weapons stash. William turned off the power, the lights are down after that. Rose sees Lance at the weapons stash. Spears got out of the weapons stash. Sun, Carmen and Manny are trying to escape. Manny got shot to death. Manny turned into a zombie. Spears shot Manny to death. Solid Episode of Black Summer Season 1, this was just okay. It could be more exciting to be honest. Hope for some action during the last two Episodes of the Season!

Best Episode in the Series
eberkerbatur9 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
My favorite part of the black summer series, scenario was very strong and a well thought-out robberies in the series of zombie series between the way that is very enjoyable only the manny character's death scene was unnecessary and absurd to me, I like to see how the events happen in many ways except him. The final scenes could be designed better.

What was this place and how did they get there? Why were they let in? Was it a nightclub, a brothel or a prison? Why were they there? It made no sense at all, I even checked if I forgot to watch the episode before.

Just two words. What happened?
KederliLahmacun19 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Remember the guy who couldn't even hit a single bullet to the head? Remember the people who don't hesitate to kill hundreds of human targets but can't even take down a single zombie? Remember how the episode "Diner" ended? Gosh, I'm just angry at this show. I can't take it when such potential just gets wasted because of obvious mistakes. First of all, how could they know the WHOLE "facility" as if their homes? Without even entering in there before? Secondly, what were the soldiers we saw at the beginning on the rooftop doing? Didn't they report the trespass? If I can get answer to these questions, I will change my rating for sure. Can't say the plan was bad, just doesn't make any sense since they all had just met in the episode "Diner". I don't understand how could one can't actually think about showing the initial actions and planning first before showing the whole heist thing. I hope I can find myself some answers.

I Don't Get It
mmoon-237638 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Well, the 2nd episode of this show that I just don't understand. This is supposed to be some super secure weapon depot, but half the team can just get let in an unguarded back door? Also, the armory was only guarded by 1 guy, who wan't even paying attention? My primary question is, why is there some weird nightclub thing going on? What it this militia or whatever it is trying to do? Just a "the world is ending, so let's go out partying" kind of thing?

Then, to make matters even better, they decided to kill someone, which we know by now, turns them into a zombie even if they hadn't been bitten, so the whole place pretty much gets wiped out.

Maybe I just have no clue what's going on, but I can't say I liked this episode.

Grabbed a few bags of rifles and ZERO ammo. Really? Really? It's like you just did a daring raid in order to steal some crappy baseball bats you could've found on the street.

What the hell?
vaughanstarr5 July 2021
I honestly have no idea what the hell is going on in this episode. Am I even watching the same show? Most of the time it is too bloody dark to see anything, the rest of the time what you do see makes no sense! It's as if they hired completely different writers who had no knowledge of what had taken place so far and were just told to make something up!

Pathetic
maximovlE24 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I've tried really hard. I gave up on episode 4 but found myself with some spare time so started again. Episode 5... What on earth? A whole episode to orchestrate an escape from the diner, with, yet again, people doing things that just would not happen. When the they attack the guy in the diner, it was like the garden scene from Shaun of the dead, we just needed Queen playing.

This episode ... Wow. How many drugs were consumed making this garbage? Armageddon is here, let's set up a nightclub...

Deleted the rest, I'm out.

Incredibly stupid episode of a 6 out of 10 star espies.
hewlett616 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Most of the logic failures have been pointed out. But how about this one? How does 6 or 7 people devise such a complex plan when one of them does not even speak English? How does Sun know what is actually expected of her without constant visual prompts? It is not like she could understand what the plan was prior to arriving without an interpreter.

Whats actually happening
paulwattriley13 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Isnt this based in the US so why is there a lack of weapons? Where did the meth factory come from. Why were they all still walking do no cars work? They were supposed to be going to the stadium where is this stadium? is it in another state? How many days has passed since episode one. Why is Lance there? Why are any of there at that building in the first place?

Serious poor story telling, writing and lack of narration going on
