Billy Russo.

Alright, there's only one thing I got to say about this one: Ben Barnes is great.

If there's something I was waiting all this time, is a connection with a character. I mean, in season one it was Frank. Jon's interpretation was fantastic. I am not saying this season he is bad, but is... Poor. He has real potential and knows how to touch your feelings, but as I said many times, there are lack of good characters to help Berthal and I think that's a step down from season one quality.

But now, Ben Barnes is showing his abilities and man... He is really good. I think the show keeps me interested because of him and his performance on screen. Great episode.

My Brother's Keeper

Warning: Spoilers
We should have been done with Billy Russo after Season 1. The problem is that this show needed a fresh villain year to year and so far Russo is just not filling that presence well enough.

So much wasted potential here because the problem is it is playing out just like it did the first year.

We could be Gods

Earlier in this season, one of my biggest concerns was whether I would be able to look past Russo's underwhelming scars. While his appearance has remained unchanged, the performance from Ben Barnes has become more and more expressive and impactful with each episode. Barnes is able to display a wide range of layered emotions very effectively as Russo's character feels betrayed but confused; enraged but also terrified.

Another excellent episode which is able to explore the Castle-Russo dynamic and their similarities even with minimal shared screen time.

Mad, bad and, most definitely, dangerous to know
DVD_Connoisseur21 January 2019
Beginning with a "Heat" style gunfight that resembles something from a Hollywood blockbuster, the episode soon settles into a different rhythm as we gain a greater insight into the psyche of the key protagonists.

Facing their respective demons, Frank and Russo are haunted men. Both are close to the edge, perhaps skirting perilously on the outer rim of sanity. Frank is haunted by the loss of his family; Russo believes his best friend has betrayed him.

The quality of the performances here is insanely high. Incredible drama.

Greatest acting of all time
matiasbockerman19 January 2019
Barnes and Bernthal go under my skin. They dedicate their roles amazingly great. I think they are as great actors as Hardy, Caprio, Cooper, Malek for example. Pure greatness and marvelous acting, atmosphere, soundediting, directing and dialogue .. Seriously: can tv entertainment go any furher? I think punisher series is one of the greatest shows of all time including series like breaking bad, westworld or GOT. Just watch it.

My thoughts about this season has changed after watching this episode. we have watched a super character improvement, nice jokes, very good action scenes, and a massive progress in story. this episode deserves more than 8.5!

Self destruction
Calicodreamin25 March 2021
Interesting to see the parallels between Frank and Billy as they both self destruct and how the people close to them react. Solid episode.

Real intensity

Another solid episode. Some good warped psychology and comparison between both Russo and Castle. The opening shoot-out rivals the likes of HEAT and there's some real intensity throughout.

Excellent performances, poorly written

Warning: Spoilers
I really thought that this season would improve sooner or later, that Billy's story would be finished and all that soap opera drama about the therapist falling in love with their patient would be over. But as it turns out, we've Billy Russo for the rest of the season, changing all that cheap drama for a gang-army stravaganzza. And while all this takes place, the writers seem to have forgotten about the newest and far more interesting story, the one with which they started the season. Is there or will there be any consistency whatsoever, for the episodes left?

Poorly Written

Warning: Spoilers
It seemed like I was watching a very cheap drama, with these conversations that the writers try to make them seem deep but they fail. Long moments of empty chit-chats and emotions, with no real developments in the story. This episode and the previous one were nothing but fillers, and if you skipped them you wouldn't miss so much of the story. Not to mention that it seems that the writers can't go with 2 lines in the show, so they have to put the John Pilgrim's aside until they deal with the Russo's.

And what's with the Jake scene? He was held by Frank all the time, so why Frank returned to hit him and ask him about Russo's place?!

Inconsistency.

Painful how a writer can ruin a good show.

Inconsistency Apex
jaskaran-7252029 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Throughout the entirety of season 2 of the Punisher, the show's been lacking any sort of juice or actual mesh in the storytelling. What's the point of showing Midani's perspective? Russo's perspective? Castle's perspective? Curtis? Amy? Why do they do the things they do?

The answer is I don't know. And the writers don't know either. There's no purpose or actual grand story written together in this season. Or at least when you zoom in to the episodes.

I really wanted this show to be like Breaking Bad, but it's just not good.
