Purity of purpose

Once again, this episode is held back from the inclusion of unnecessary scenes where characters simply talk and the plot is not progressed, simply consolidated to make sure the audience knows exactly where everyone stands. This is most noticeable in scenes with Madani or Krista which are by far the least engaging for me.

Also I know Frank is supposed to seem unstoppable but there needs to be some more variety sometimes as we got one of the most underwhelming standoffs because of this. Hopefully the return of Josh Stewart will see the quality increase

Repetitive, but still manages to stay decent.

In "Flustercluck" we see both stories going on. Bill desperately looking for answers, Frank chasing him and Amy doing his part too (getting in trouble, of course).

I think this is more of a refill episode to the season, more of the same. However, there are some interesting moments that raises the tension. Average, a regular episode on this Punisher season... Disappointing I must say.

Bounty hunters

Decent episode in terms of action and storyline development. Interesting to get some background on the elusive bad guy.

Sex and Death: The Quiet Before the Storm

Intercutting scenes of Russo's recently formed army of elite soldiers brutally eliminating a townhouse of drug dealers, with his intimacy with Krista, the opening is extremely effective.

The stakes are upped for Castle and his friends. With a five million dollar bounty on the heads of Frank and Amy, New York has suddenly become even more dangerous.

A gripping episode with many subplots left hanging. Even Pilgrim appears to be in a sticky situation.

Not great

The cast is great and unlike most people, i like Amy. She has good chemistry with Frank and is there to remind him of his daughter and his humanity.

There are two major issues with this season. The dialogue is an almost comical series of confessions. The tone of these conversations are numbingly grim. The last thing this show needed is a therapist to give more opportunities to share some tortured personal histories.

Villains in "super hero" shows/movies are as important as the hero. Hating or fearing them is what gives the plot suspense. Billy Russo already lost his battle against the punisher and this time he can't totally remember who he is. Pilgram is menacing but what different challenge does he actual give Frank? He's another thug. Two non-threatening villains do not make up for one worthy adversary

Jon Bernthal's portrayal of The Punisher is the reason to watch this. You get a character perfectly brought to life and some cheap action.

Finally

A pleasantly surprising return to form, one that combines engaging drama with mild action sequences. Hopefully the remaining episodes with follow that line.

Incredibly boring and cheesy
Zmajdragongirl1 March 2019
Honestly, I don't know what's up with this season. It lacks the feeling of season 1. The dialogues are superficial, characters annoying, nobody knows why they are there. Just a big mess with lots of shooting and killing. Frank is man without purpose so he now goes around killing everyone getting in his way. This wasn't the Frank from the previous season. And some subplots are just underdeveloped and unexplained. Maybe it will be explained later but right now I am asking myself "What? What?"

Warning: Spoilers
As the scrambled name will tell you, this was a wild episode.

A lot of violence, not much substance, but I don't think that is what many watch the show for.

Enjoyable though.

Stakes are raised

Carrying on the momentum from previously. Plenty of high drama and action as the stakes are raised for all of the characters. I'm enjoying this more than season one at this point.

Painful to Watch
JMaddocks9626 January 2019
The entire episode is painful to watch.

The blood splatter from the CGI looks like a failing college student was left alone with those scenes.

The dialogue within season 2 is awful but this episode really takes the biscuit. Not sure how people could vote it 8.8/10 when this episode is impossible to watch without cringing.

Terrible effects
ninjajoel19 January 2019
Compared to the rest of the series this episode had some of the worst blood splatter effects I've ever seen. The first scene is just painful to watch, terrible cgi
