Very well done.

Some might complain about the gore in this episode. But that is what really happened, and I bet it looked worse in really worse in real life. And they never pulled the camera away. And that, in turn, showed us what the 3 main characters are capable of outside of prison. That's the perfect episode to lead us into what could be coming.

We had to know what they were in for.

Warning: Spoilers
Yes, the violence was brutal and unexpected. But as we probably became to like them over the course of the first 5 episodes and maybe even rooted for them to make it out (which is the case in most prison-escape or bank-heist movies) we forgot these were extremely violent criminals in prison for life. After seeing this reveal episode it actually surprised me they weren't on Death Row, one for killing a cop and the other for sawing a guy in pieces and chewing a ring off his dead finger.

Very surprising episode. An exercise in "tantric storytelling"

Warning: Spoilers
I have to admit that following a new, unidentified character for the first 14 minutes of this episode was really letting me down. It was the first time in the entire show that I did not feel entertained at all.

Yet, everything turned after those long, unexpected 14 minutes. We got to see some of the relevant past of the main characters. And what a rough depiction of it. Too violent? Yes, but that's how things were and maybe part an explanation of how driven they were to plan such an escape.

All in all, this episode builds up for a climax. Let's hope the ending does justice to all the other episodes.

Great episode just before the final...

Let's be honest, we all wanted to see them fly away. All prison-break themed movies or series were about inmates who were really not supposed to be in prison. But at this episode we see who they really are... Psychopaths! So what do you want now?

Haunting...

Wow! What a powerful limited series! I've watched every episode multiple times. The actors are phenomenal! Patricia Arquette is completely mesmerizing as 'Tilly', I've always thought she way underrated. I hope she wins an Emmy... she's really that good! And how could Ben Stiller go wrong with Benicio del Toro, and Paul Dano?! The story has been told before but not with this level of detail... and I'm hear just to state how amazing the acting and directing are. Watch it... it's a slow burn that will haunt you.

like throwing water in your face

Just as we kind of liked these two characters and going along for the escape, episode 6 shows who we are cheering on. It may have been Dano's boyish looks or thinking of Del Toro in other roles but whatever it was like somebody throwing a glass of ice cold water in your face. It brought us back to the reality of the reality of the event. Like others have stated...I really don't care for Stiller as a comedian but he has done an amazing job with this story.

Amazingly dark

One of the best episodes. I hate Ben Stiller's comedies and never liked any of his films but this show is something special.

Warning: Spoilers
Ep6? Why wait till #6 to fill us in on characters 'back stories'? This series is fantastic, great story tell, zips by way to fast for such a detailed docu~drama, and at only 7eps long is why I thought #6 was such a waste. The ep. was good, but IMO I would rather have seen how the characters get out of town on their own,or do they?! Hopefully #7 wraps it up nicely, because this has been a great ride.

Best episode so far
fer-rod131 December 2018
Now we really know the ones that escape. This is completly diferent of what we see on prision break movies, all of them shoul be like this. On the first 5 episodes we were fans of the fugitives, now i hope they are caugth, they are the worst. Great espisode, great series.

This episode was way off! Lost my attention
tsimmons-0139927 December 2018
This episode was showing everyone's life before meeting in prison! It was strangle some long pauses in the episode. Like at beginning showing the cop ride around and the pull out scenes of his car disappearing into the dark just was way to long and end showing tilly face slow motion for 30 seconds. It seemed like they were reaching for time to make it a full 60 min episode. All the rest were great. I feel sorry for the little boy.

Part 6
Prismark1020 December 2020
I really question if this episode was needed at this stage.

It is a flashback episode and large part of it consisted of torture porn.

It fleshes out what the characters did to get to prison.

Sweat killed a cop, Matt tortured his ex boss before killing him. Tilly had an affair and made sure her first husband would have no contact with their child.

It really looked like a filler episode. The opening scenes are of a cop just driving around until he encounters Sweat.

Maybe it was there to make sure no sympathy can be elicited for these characters.

BEWARE Gratuitous Violence
dcarey1-290-54165024 December 2018
This episode was Simply Awful. There was no need for the way over the top violence.

This series should have been no longer than three or four episodes.
