Hank Braxtan has given us a genetically altered polar bear in Unnatural, a giant urban serpent in Snake Outta Compton and a dragon in Dragon Soldiers. And now he delivers the dinosaurs in his latest film, Jurassic Hunt. I wonder what took him so long?
A group of hunters, including Parker (Courtney Loggins; Give My Love To Rose), Valentine (Tarkan Dospil; 4 Minutes), Torres and African poacher and warlord Blackhawk, has been flown into a remote and hidden location. They’re there to hunt the biggest game of all, dinosaurs. Lindon manager of Jurassic Hunt welcomes them, gives them their choice of weapons and tags them all with a tracking device, “Just in case”.

After putting a youthful, female-centric spin on vampiredom in “Bleed With Me,” Canadian director Amelia Moses does the same favor for werewolves in “Bloodthirsty.” This sophomore feature is likewise a slow-burning tale set among three primary characters in a remote setting. But this time the script is by producer Wendy Hill-Tout and her daughter, singer-songwriter Lowell, who make the pressures of the music industry integral to the story.
To a degree, that emphasis may disappoint horror fans who want more of the fanged action that takes its time arriving here. But within its modest boundaries, “Bloodthirsty” does a creditable enough job balancing supernatural suspense with the drama of a young artist’s insecurities at a key early career juncture. It may be one big metaphor, but as they go, “Recording a second album made me a monster” has the ring of truth. Brainstorm Media is releasing to VOD on April 23 in the U.

The beauty of telling stories in a multiverse is the infinite possibility offered by the infinite places and infinite times to set those stories in. DC’s embrace of their multiverse has historically been one of its strongest features, but Crisis on Infinite Earths muted that ability for decades after, and only recently have comics creators started to enthusiastically dive into the concept again. And with Dark Nights: Death Metal wailing towards its conclusion, it looks like DC is set to go head first into the Bleed again.
Future State is the next big DC Comics event. Following the conclusion of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s explosive reintroduction of the infinite multiverse-slash-musing on what might happen if we let evil get a couple of high profile wins in (gee no real world analogue to that story at all no sir), the entire DC line will be taking a pause for two months,...

Everyone loves a good deal, and over the past few months, all the major players in the gaming industry have been doing their best to ensure that folks don’t have to shell out too much money to enjoy some top tier titles. Be it Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo or a whole host of other companies, we’ve seen a lot of discounts and sales lately covering tons of different games across many, many genres.
Perhaps the most generous, however, has been Sony, who consistently offer up new deals that are simply too good to resist, and today is no different. Currently, there are 67 – yes, 67 – games available on the PlayStation 4 that can be yours for less than $5. And while some of these may be forgettable titles that didn’t make much of an impact upon their release, there are certainly a few gems here that are well worth the price they’re selling for.

I’m a big fan of Robert Patrick, who is best know for his roles in Terminator 2 and The X-Files, so it’s great to see him join Steven Soderbergh’s new film project The Laundromat.
Patrick joins an already impressive cast that includes Gary Oldman, Meryl Streep, Antonio Banderas, David Schwimmer and Will Forte.
The story centers around one of the largest money laundering schemes ever. “The Panama Papers refers to the documents that linked money laundering to politicians and powerful higher-ups such as U.S. President Donald Trump. The documents came to light due to a whistleblower with knowledge of the Mossack Fonseca law firm.”
Schwimmer will take on the role of Matthew Quirk, an attorney who speaks on behalf of one of the insurance companies after 20 elderly passengers die on a boating excursion. “The boating company learned its insurance isn’t the large company it thought it was,...

August signals the best and worst parts of summer — still plenty of time for beach days, but we’re reminded that the back-to-school frenzy is just around the corner.
We choose to procrastinate thinking about summer’s end as long as possible, and there are plenty of new titles dropping on Netflix to help us escape. Season 2 of the recently Emmy-nominated “Ozark” arrives on August 31, teaching us that the money laundering business knows no off-season.
Matt Groening’s new series “Disenchantment” will debut on Aug. 17. The show follows princess Bean, played by “Broad City” star Abbi Jacobson, her elf companion Elfo (Nat Faxon) and her own personal demon Luci (Eric Andre). Dropping that same day is the Ya movie “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.”

Next month’s Netflix offerings are decidedly top-heavy, as the streaming giant will add a number of its starriest titles on the first of the month, including “Batman Begins,” “Clerks,” “Million Dollar Baby,” and “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring,” along with classic tearjerker “Steel Magnolias” and the also classic Matt-Damon-being-dumb entry “The Informant!” The rest of the month holds other treasures, however, including “No Country for Old Men” and “Hostiles,” a solid double feature for anyone who loves witnessing the brutal dissection of the American dream.
Netflix will also debut a number of original films next month, including the Kristen Bell-starring “Like Father,” their Ya adaptation “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before,” and the mouth-filling “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.” Tasty!
