When we watch a TV show, we become attached to the characters we see on screen. We start caring about them like if they were real, we give them advice sitting on our couches and we root for them, too. It’s only natural if you have even a little note of compassion in you.
However, sometimes our beloved characters die on screen, and of course that makes us feel sad. And while some TV shows have no way of bringing back fallen characters, some, like soap operas or fantasy dramas, have a reputation for being able to do so.
With the news that Stranger Things season 5 already started production, fans are even more passionate about sharing their views on what the upcoming season would bring to them. There were a lot of talks about the desire to bring back, for example, Eddie Munson, played by Joseph Quinn.

Match #1: Nic Nemeth def. Trey Miguel The following is courtesy of tnawrestling.com:
After defeating Zachary Wentz last week, Nic Nemeth must now lock horns with another Rascal in Trey Miguel! Nemeth clotheslines Miguel over the top rope to the floor. Wentz provides a momentary distraction, allowing Miguel to take him out with a dive. Back in the ring, Miguel rakes the eyes, then drives Nemeth shoulder-first into the steel ring post. Nemeth creates separation with a mid-air dropkick to counter Miguel’s springboard. Nemeth delivers repeated elbow drops but Miguel kicks out. Wentz trips up Nemeth in the corner and the referee ejects him from ringside. Miguel soars with the Meteora off the distraction but it’s not enough.

I’ve always been interested and super curious about the whole Mk Ultra CIA Human Experiment story and have often found myself reading articles, listening to podcasts or watching the odd rare documentary diving into what is and is not known about the highly illegal but absolutely fascinating events. So a dramatisation of one man’s involvement was sure to get my juices flowing.
There was also an added interesting factor to Mk Ultra with the director being from an intelligence background. This may not make much difference in terms of a factual nature (although it couldn’t hurt) but you have to imagine it would make a difference in terms of aesthetic and the procedural nature of the story as we take an all too real,...

I spent an unhealthy amount of time on conspiracy forums as a kid, so it stands to reason that I grew up with a grim fascination with stories concerning Esp abilities and Mk Ultra experiments. Unfortunately, there’s not a lot of media out there that properly explores these fringe concepts and their narrative potential (possibly because the government itself has recognized that most of this research was a gigantic and largely unethical waste of public resources).
That being said, one of my favorite representations of psionic powers and government conspiracies in media comes in the form of Midway Games’ underrated Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy. A story-driven third-person shooter from 2004, the title may not have taken the gaming world by storm, becoming overshadowed by other high-profile releases of the time, but it was a lot more influential than most folks give it credit for. That’s why I think this...

The thing about the experiments carried out at Porton Down in the mid 20th Century – which followed, to an extent, in the same tradition as Mk Ultra in the US – is that so much remains hidden about them, and there is so much denial surrounding them, that fiction writers can use them as a foundation for all sorts of things. Writer/director John Farrelly has claimed them as inspiration for this thriller about prisoners and sleep deprivation, but it has notable features in common with a similarly titled Creepypasta story. What gives it some weight regardless is its focus on Irish characters, which reflects other aspects of the troubled history of the British state and makes the central premise all too believable.
This concerns five men, hooded and marched into what looks like an underground bunker in the opening scenes. All serving lengthy prison sentences, they have been told that.

"Are you ready to begin?" Cinedigm has revealed an official trailer for an intriguing psychological thriller titled Mk Ultra, from filmmaker Joseph Sorrentino. This is a superbly on-the-nose title for a film that is based around and set in the time of the Mk Ultra experiments in the 60s, but that's how they have to sell films these days. Based on the infamous CIA drug experiments, this psychological thriller follows a brilliant psychiatrist, played by Anson Mount, who unknowingly becomes entangled with a dangerous government entity fixated on mind control using psychedelic substances. This thriller exposes the experiments the US conducted on its own citizens. Mk Ultra also stars Jaime Ray Newman, Alon Aboutboul, and David Jensen. It's amusing that they turned the Mk Ultra tests into fodder for an intense thriller, I don't think it ever got this crazy. Or… did it? "Politics and science make the worst of friends,...

Oi! Did you hear that the fourth season of "The Boys" is officially in production? If not, then congratulations; everyone's favorite anti-superhero television show will be back for a new season, and it could come sooner than you think. With production on both the main series and its college-based spinoff, "Gen V," underway, "Boys" showrunner Eric Kripke revealed the title for the fourth season premiere in a Twitter post.
Simply captioned "Day One," the tweet revealed that the premiere is being handled by two mainstays of the series; it was written by season 3 writer and producer David Reed, while also being directed by "The Only Man in the Sky" helmer Phil Sgriccia. However, what many fans might find intriguing is the season 4 premiere's title, "Department of Dirty Tricks." If you think you've heard that name before, it's probably because you know a thing or two about government conspiracies. That title...

Warning: contains spoilers for Stranger Things Season 4 vol. I & II.
Stranger Things is never shy about saluting its film inspirations. So when the Netflix show appears to quote from an extremely famous movie scene, it’s worth chewing over the potential implications. Especially when the extremely famous movie scene in question backs up a major twist some fans are predicting for Stranger Things Season 5.
In Eleven’s pivotal flashback in Season 4, Episode 7 ‘The Massacre at Hawkins Lab’, the creepy lab orderly revealed to be a grown-up Henry Creel/One/Future Vecna gets his telekinetic powers back, kills everybody and makes Eleven an offer: “If you come with me, for the first time in your life you will be free. Imagine what we could do together. We could reshape the world. Reimagine it however we see fit. Join me.”

Exclusive: Cinedigm has acquired North American rights to the CIA thriller Mk Ultra, starring Anson Mount (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds), Jaime Ray Newman (Dopesick) and Jason Patric (Lost Boys), scheduling it for release in theaters and on VOD this fall.
The film is inspired by the true story of the illegal drug experimentation program, Project MKUltra, which the CIA established during the early 1960s, as a means of developing procedures and identifying drugs like LSD, which could be used to weaken individuals in interrogations, forcing confessions through brainwashing and psychological torture. It follows the brilliant psychiatrist Ford Strauss (Mount), who finds his professional and ethical boundaries tested as he is recruited to run a subsect of the program at a rural Mississippi mental hospital.
Mk Ultra was written and directed by Ex-Intelligence Officer Joseph Sorrentino, and also stars Alon Aboutboul (Snowfall) and Jen Richards (Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches). Sorrentino,...

Seth Willenson, a producer and longtime marketing, finance and distribution executive, died peacefully at his home in Los Angeles after a long bout with heart disease, according to a representative for the family. He was 74.
Willeson first started his 52-year career in 1970 when he became the second hire at New Line Cinema. It was there where he pioneered a theatrical marketing concept of the 1970’s, the Midnight Movie – using the 1936 anti-cannabis propaganda film “Reefer Madness” – a practice that continued for more than a decade with movies such as “Pink Flamingos,” “Sympathy for the Devil” and “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”
Willenson would return to New Line Cinema 20 years later after his first stint at the studio as president of Telecommunications & Planning. Willenson would subsequently serve as producer/executive producer on numerous indie films, most notably Allison Anders’ award-winning “Gas Food Lodging” and the Chuck Norris-starrer “Top Dog.”
