Acting

This episodes has it's ups and downs, intense and boring parts, predicability and twists. But, boy oh boy the Alfre Woodard and Tilda Jonson scene is intense. Their emotion is so real, so deep, so strong. Some of the best acting I've seen in a long time.

A much better version of Daredevil's Condemned episode
daimonatkins26 December 2021
What Daredevil failed to do in one episode was handled so much better in this one episode of Luke Cage It continues the story in a satisfying way, character moments/interactions are great and it leaves the story in a good place to continue being invested instead of feeling like you wasted 50 minutes on a plot that barely goes anywhere.

For Pete's Sake

Warning: Spoilers
I don't know if Mariah's big reveal was worthy of the tears her daughter was shedding, but Mariah certainly has gone even more heel this season. It was better than the last episode, but again way too much talking.

When Luke did finally face the Bush he won too easily. This show needs consistency with the strengths of its stars.

10/10 for Mariah and Tilda

I couldn't actually tell you what happened in this episode other than the scene between Mariah and Tilda. It was incredible. The lack of any sound other than the talking and tears really added to the power of the scene. I didn't think much of the series as a whole but this bit really stood out for me as a shining moment. Incredible work.

Alfre Woodard

Espectacular actuación de Alfre. Magistral escena con su hija. Un Oscar para ella!

Drag

Up until this point, the show moved at a great pace. This episode was a bit of a bottleneck. Though it delved deeper into the relationships between the characters, the lengthy dialoguing that they used for accomplishing this, just went on and on and on.

Struggling to be good

Warning: Spoilers
This story line is struggling. Alfe Woodard may be an Oscar nominee but her "surprise" acting is just horrible. And Mariah's and Shade's "relationship" is just horrible to watch as they have little to no chemistry. That relationship really drags down the rest of the story line.

The positive side of the episode is Luke's and his Dad's repaired relationship. They do a nice job of a son and other struggling to connect, to recognise, and accept the faults of each.

The worst yet?
Leofwine_draca14 November 2021
Possibly the worst episode of the show yet. I watched an episode of SQUID GAME on the same day as this and you couldn't get much more different in terms of quality. The 20 minute soap opera chat between two supporting characters is the nadir of this.

Mariah actor
zippi-341-38395829 July 2018
So far I have really liked casting of MCU series, but this Mariah actor is really bad. Emotions from laugh to crying is very bad work. This episode sums it all. Luke Cage season 2 has been big dissapointent with long live music scenes and if there is something good in this season, Mariah brings everything to the ground.

Good and (mostly) Bad
zomgzomg26 February 2019
This episode was pretty slow all except two scenes which I actually enjoyed.

The first was a nice interaction between Mariah and Luke's father. It was good to see her humanised a little, even if it did end up with her being manipulative.

The other was a very dramatic monologue from Mariah. It was written pretty well and it was well acted by both Alfre and Gabrielle.

The other scenes, even the action ones, weren't very interesting.
