So I'm a huge fan of lifetime and hallmark movies, I know they're almost always predictable and pretty much the same plot every time (a couple who are enemies/dislike each other but then end up falling in love or a couple who had been together before but had to leave their hometown mainly for business reasons then comes home and they end up getting back together for life) but this movie isn't like that too much, which is not bad. I really loved the plot, but the writing and screenplay for this was a little jumbled and really had me confused between the past and present in the film. Acting wasn't terrible but not Oscar-worthy, plot was pretty good, but like I said, the way they set up the screenplay was really confusing. I don't know if I'd watch again.

You had me at 'Austin & Gatlin'!

Just watched the movie, then read reviews and decided not to re-post the storyline, but a review from a different perspective. I was drawn to watch this movie because I recently watched the duo in a riveting movie called, 'His Past Life'. While Austins' talent is undeniable, a sure leading character, and easy on the eyes - Gatlin is adorable and holds her own with acting chops as well. I had not heard of the couple before now, but both were so compelling in the thriller movie, I was prompted to search out other projects they may be in. That's when I learned they are married in real life, with three beautiful children. Regarding this 'Emerson Height' film, Austin is the clear stand-out who carries the film, although it was not near his best performance in comparison to the other movie. But when you understand that this movie was a low-budget family project, that he wrote, produced, and starred in, it's easy to consider that most likely this was more of a passion project overall to convey an important message through the story line. Those attempting to align their motive with a political narrative, is just off-base. Everyone has a right to their beliefs, faith, and opinions; and if these folks chose to put their treasure where their heart is... bravo!
Predictable & TERRIBLY Cringey

I am a die-hard chick flick fan... but this!? I barely got through it!!!
The fact that the leads are married in real life shocks me because the chemistry was awkward and the actors on their own were just as strange.
Not to mention the supporting cast being just as bad.... the female antagonist was BEYOND atrocious.
The feel of this movie reminded me of those terrible life insurance commercials where the actors are overly dramatic and OVER-act everything.... seriously, it's that bad.
The characters had no depth and a flat affect. The actors leave much to be desired. The storyline has been done to many times by to many people thus making it boring and predictable.
This one just doesn't measure up. I will not watch it again.

Great chemistry!

Call me a sentimental fool, but I really enjoyed this. The two leads are married in real life, and that makes the chemistry between them amazing. There are elements of a lot of Hallmark type movies, but so what? It entertained me. I came across this on You Tube. Check it out!
Don't watch. You'll regret!

Family-friendly, until the surprise sex scene.

Warning: Spoilers
Initially I felt so safe as I screened it for the family. Pleasant, kind characters. Interesting plot and scenarios. Suddenly the couple are going at it in the bedroom, which changes it to an entirely different genre. Some may say that's real life. I just thing it was directorial blundering which mixed genres. Goes from cheery, to downer.
Cinematography, acting, photography, editing, and directing otherwise make the grade.
