The Grave of Gein

A Moment Of Silence At The Grave Of Ed Gein (2012)

** 1/2 (out of 4)

Ed Gein was one of the most notorious serial killers in American history and his story led to movies like PSYCHO, DERANGED and THE Texas CHAIN SAW MASSACRE among many others. This short from director Jorg Buttgereit only lasts two-minutes but it visits the cemetery where the killer is buried in an unmarked grave. Obviously at just two-minutes there's nothing overly special here. Even less special is the fact that the film really does live up to its title as the camera is placed in one location and it's two-minutes worth of silence. I guess this film was the director's way of paying respect to someone who has actually had a major impact on the horror world. As I said there's nothing overly great here but I guess it will appeal to those who'd like to see Gein's resting place but don't want to visit the actual place.
