An intense, take on the 'The Hitcher' theme !

I've watched this short movie, on CFT channel, A cat spends the day chasing a mouse. When he finally corners the mouse, he takes sadistic delight in batting it around. The director choose daylight to show us a new take on the hitcher theme, the setting is a forest, actor(Helder Santos) is like a vicious coyote, he starts the conversation, always looking at the young man, wanting to kill him, at every turn of the wheel, while the film isn't necessarily deep, the high-energy cast, and the forest settings twisty script fuel this effort for about 24 minutes, if this was a feature film, i would probably give 10 out of 10, but instead it got 7 out of 10.

Beware the road, terror starts the moment you stop... for him...

One of those films, that despite its simplicity, delivers exactly what is should.

Credit has to go to Rui Constantino (the director) for managing to create thrills and tension, with such a basic plot, due in no small part to the very solid cast of Helder Santos and Miguel Branco, they deliver a brilliant performance.

The score by Myuu is brilliant,eerie,intense and dark.

The ending is powerful and one of the main reasons why i love this short so much.

In final word, if you love Action-Thrillers,Horror Films,Road Movies,Road Thrillers or genre films in general,I highly suggest you see Um Dia Negro, an unforgettable movie that will stay with you after you watch it. Highly Recommended.

Incredible achievement

It is unmatchable nightmare that has no equal in history of cinema. It handles the theme of wickedness in a form of road movie and horror movie and the result is a perfect piece of art. This movie should become a classic in every country, i'm hoping to buy it soon, the end scene between these two protagonists is very strong, if only this movie could have been more violent, i've checked all their movies on CFT channel, and i can notice the evolution of the director, he's making two, three films a year, and we are getting a sequel, i just hope it's true, because i've enjoyed this very much, and explore this world, even more, would be a great thing.

A great movie for the paranoid who wish to feed their fantasies

A great tension that takes you on journey to oblivion

First of all, just want to congratulate all the team behind this movie, because it was outstanding, for me the actors were great, they made this so good, i will never forget the expression on the killers face as he watch the young man drive. I loved the twist at the end I didn't t expect that, this movie just has something that grabs us, because this can happen to anyone, and then we have a hitcher inside our car, a real psycho and he wants to play a crazy game with us, all in all a very good short movie, great cast, great director has always, all we have to do, is sit back and relax and enjoy this super short movie from Constantino Filmes, that takes us on journey to oblivion.

A Portuguese cult classic

A young man (Miguel Branco) is driving trough the forest, until he picks up a very strange man (Helder Santos) he doesn't make himself out to be a nice guy, this short movie opens with a masterful bolt of suspense, the conversation between them is very scary, and the look on the killers eyes is obscure, both actor are exceptional, i loved this movie, hope they can do more like this, it's very good !

The twist is phenomenal, and it really caught me of guard, i never expected to be so cool.

Um Dia Negro, is one of the greatest short movies, i've seen. and it will become a cult classic for sure, because nothing is what it seems like, i truly recommend this picture.

Never pick up a hitchhiker !!! Thrilling twists ahead !!!

I have mixed feelings about the picture overall because there are a lot of good things about it. It's supposed to be suspenseful and it did shock me, especially the end, it's real crazy, and i've watched 3 times already. I felt tense throughout and admire the fact that this movie, is all about these guys that by destiny meet each other, and then, something happens...

For me this is a journey into a living nightmare, the two actors are great, and will try to see more work of them in the future.

Constantino Filmes are focusing on more films like this, which is good for us, hope they can maintain this degree of excellence.

So don't pick up hitchhikers...

Recommended for thriller fans.

A thriller scary as hell, in time will become a classic

Um Dia Negro is marvelous thriller, it puts two men in a collision course You can't help but feel sorry for the boy on the wheel, the he asks questions, it's just creepy, he as no motive at all and that makes him pure evil. both actors do a splendid job, i enjoyed every minute of it, and when i saw him, get out of the car, i tought the boy was safe, i was wrong... The ending is fantastic, and somehow i wanted to see more of it. It will definitely make you think twice before picking up hitchhikers.

The collector of souls disguise as a hitcher

Gregory is a crazy man walking the roads, in order to kill random people to collect their souls, he is a strange hitcher. Until he meets Ricardo, he accepts and gives him a ride, what happens next will take us, to our worst nightmare has we see what happens.

For me this is one of the most incredible short movie ever, you´ll never guess the ending.

There's a new Hitcher in Portugal

This short movie is by far the best movie I have seen in a long while. We need more movies like this! It was intense and there was never a dull moment. You can tell they put a lot of effort into making this movie, this is what makes TV great, i've watch four times already in their channel( CFT on Facebook ) and keep finding new things about it, what suspenseful thriller. I can't wait to pick up the DVD of this. The first killer is insane, and the second, just let me tell that i was surprised, never in a million years, i would have guessed that.

For me it was suspense to the extreme, Amazing !

A step above the thriller movie genre.

I found this movie to be an excellent movie. If your looking for an edgy thriller. This is your movie. This movie literally keeps you at the edge of your seat throughout the whole movie. You never know what is going to happen next. You think you do, but something completely different occurs. Great actors, great story line.

I was pleasantly surprised with the ending and the way this film turned out.

A suspense thriller with a loss of innocence

This excellent film tells the viewer one very simple but demanding message: Don't pick up a hitchhiker!

Um Dia Negro as a film flows beautifully (despite its short 24min length), with wonderfully dark music, and a watchable performance from the two actors, you can feel the despair on the driver's voice, when he tells the killer, to low is weapon, the killer throughout the movie, tells that the time for him to die is now, and he wants to bury him. But when we just think that nothing will contradict this, the once innocent young man, his a more vicious and dark killer, wanted by the cops, than the previous, and now who's gonna kill who.

A very different take on the hitcher theme, that will make open you mouth more than once, nice to see something completely different. The score by Myuu is a plus.

It's a really quite excellent thriller. Everything about the film works in some way or another, and surprises us. A true classic for audiences all over the world.
