A Drop of Blood
gabrielphoenix-4585618 September 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This was definitely the best episode of the season SO FAR. I've kept a sharp attention during every minute, till the credits. The twist in the last minutes was good, and the fact that a bullet from Decker, could actually hurt Lucifer, shows that MAYBE the ones that can affect him emotionally, can also affect him phisically.

You must really like him

Warning: Spoilers
This episode had all what I never knew I wanted from this series but know that I do it just needs to follow up on it. He questions himself and Chloe after all his failed attempts at her Chloe shows a more playful side while with Lucifer in the "Player speech" Lucifer's playful and lighthearted approach to life can lead to some slips which can blow Chloe's cover for instance Manadiel is back and shows all his strength again Maze, as we once again witness a subpar CGI Great biblical references with the apples covering a naked Lucifer and right after that we get a glimpse at the scorch marks left from the wings he once had Gripping episode plot this time, with a few unexpected and appreciated twist and turns. Chloe is about to fully believe Lucifer after all the questions and evidence she has, with a great surprise when she shoots his as we would have expected him to actually be invincible after all the build but he is, surprisingly, vulnerable. On a side note, I just love Chloe's little daughter, perfect acting and writing behind her character.

"This is a professional relationship"
ygwerin127 October 2022
"Did you and mummy have a sleepover?" So daughter Trixie Decker asked her mum when she wakes up, to discover Lucifer making breakfast in the family kitchen, its a natural enough conclusion for an innocent nipper to ask in the circumstances.

Except that her dad Dan doesn't exactly concur when he walks in on the scene, he would much rather jump to altogether the wrong conclusion.

Lucifer Morningstar hasn't exactly been the subtlest of characters when it comes to his attitudes towards Chloe Decker, and due to his totally miss-reading a comment by doctor Linda Martin, he has stepped up to turbo drive in his intentions towards her.

Male heterosexual society postulates that man is 'the hunter' certainly Carver Cruz, the criminal underachiever in this regard, tries desperately to peddle to similar chauvinistic nonentities.

Detective Chloe Decker has been desperately endeavouring to get her befuddled mind, around the walking talking enigma that apparently is Lucifer Morningstar, while he has gone out of his way to spell it out to her in words of one syllable.

He finally has to force her to shoot him to prove a point expecting nothing to occur, but I have to ask him where does the blood come from, surely as an immortal being not a human there would be no blood.

Except that as he has assumed human form, the blood may well just go with the physical body, that he has chosen to inhabit.

You're Quite Adorable When You're Flustered

One of THREE BEST one-liners in this episode! I love Lucifer's response . . . "I can arrange that, actually!" This episode has other great one-liners . . . but some of THE BEST ones occur prior to Lucifer and Chloe entering the Player symposium.

Lucifer absolutely RULES in this episode and Chloe shines as his cohort in crime!

Interesting episode.

Warning: Spoilers
I think this episode is the one where I really fell in love with Lucifer, the growth the character is showing as the season continues is fascinating. I did not see the plot twist coming, no one is who they seem to be including the devil himself. Lucifer's reaction to getting shot by Chloe is priceless and Maze is a revelation in this episode, she has a very powerful scene towards the end.

"On the contrary, Maze, the fun has just begun!"
croakedit27 December 2019
Episode is written by Ildy Modrovich and looks into power balance and constructs in different relationships - who has power over who, how and why. Different aspects of power are presented, i.e. power, resistance, persuasion, trust and how power can change. It's a really interesting exploration of power and it helps to define more clearly what the working relationships will be like between different key characters.

Deja Vu! On to the Next Case ! The Comedy continues...
Dr_Sagan16 February 2016
I wrote it from the beginning. This is a light comedic buddy cop series. It has nothing to do with "evil" or "revenge" or any other aspect that could drawn an audience attracted by the name Lucifer. This series is not for ...Satanists or people who hate religion, or raged teenagers.

In the 4th episode (which now I'm watching only to write a review about it) the series continues exactly in the same fashion. Numerous puns and light jokes like "What in the name of God? ...Not in his name" and "When Hell freezes over" monopolize the dialogs. In between more ...songs and rock music about the devil and of course ...the Next Case! In this episode we also get to see why Lesley-Ann Brandt was casted as the demon Mazikeen. She has an extraordinary long pointing tongue which looks good in the camera when she licks something.

Also...No tail and no horns for Lucifer. In his own words: "That's the stuff for movies and TV.". This is real life. You get it?

Overall: This series is a joke and so it is its 4th episode just like the fact that people pay ...$5000 to hear a motivation speech "You are warriors and women are fluffy bunnies". I guess some Satanists in the audience will still called it a Masterpiece though....

8 stars for the Devil
dollfacecrafter3 March 2021
The Devil is the best thing in this show so far, it seems like they go out of their way to find the worst actors and actresses to play the parts of the "criminals" it is very "Scooby Do-ish" how they wrap up the case so fast and onto another one. I heard that when Netflix picked this up it got way better, so I will stick with it, mostly because of the main character, he is quite hilarious. "Two Pump Chump" lol

Very well crafted episode

Most people who haven't read the comics specifically the 2000 edition volume & it's monthly issues donot realize the nude scenes shown in the entire series were drawn pretty much similar from the comics & in the comics almost in every other page parallels are drawn to the anatomy of angels & that to the humans, those who have read the comics found it dark since it gives a statutory label on the cover page suggesting for mature readers & yes it dies involve Bible & subject matter of God & the existential crisis of angel Samael with the creator, am pretty sure it took a lot for writers to bring in humor into this series & make it appear lighter for everyday viewers to watch it after a tiring hectic day, I suggest viewers to read few pages from the 2000 volume before you jump into conclusions & entirely dismiss the series & its individual episodes due to nudity or other graphic content, once you read you will be amazed to dive into the mindset of Neil Gaiman who is the primary writer of Lucifer & of the award winning bestseller The Sandman 1989 comics where Lucifer as a comic book character originates first, if you are curious it's #issue 4, I love all the bits of this episode & that of the Priest walks into a bar episode 9 as my favorites from Season1 , post Lucifer I am quite intrigued & eager to watch Netflix's Show The Sandman which is airing in 2022 :)

[8.5] The battle inside her heart
cjonesas4 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Episode 4: The best episode so far and as of yet. The minutes leading to him being shot and the seconds after that were just pure 9+ .

Decker's play is good, she's falling in love, she's fighting it for now and as much as she can, but in the end she will lose that battle inside her heart.

Crashed and burned in four episodes...
sarastro718 February 2016
I completely agree with the two previous reviewers. This show started out as something that could be exciting; something that might have had an edge - but it quickly turned into predictable, toothless, phoned-in fare. What is the point of having the Devil as the main character when he has changed into a normal nice person? There is none. No edge, nothing provocative - the only thing left is a lot of sexist sexual innuendo, and that has already gotten old.

Not wasting any more time one this show. Going back to re-watching Constantine.

My ratings of Lucifer: Ep. 1: 7/10 Ep. 2: 6/10 Ep. 3: 6/10 Ep. 4: 4/10

Tit-For-Tat

Warning: Spoilers
Chloe takes a shower and she looks pretty. She hears a noise and wraps herself in a towel and goes down with a gun. It is Lucifer making breakfast and the towel drops to the floor.

Chloe's ex says that there is a case involving a guest list that has Lucifer's name on it. Chloe asks Lucifer to help her out.

Later Lucifer appears naked at the club.

Lucifer helps Chloe with the case and she shoots him in the leg. Lucifer covers for her when explaining to her female boss what happened.

Too bad...
blueraised16 February 2016
I kinda liked the series, mostly the pilot.

I had hopes for it to get better.... oh well.

So here is the review; It went from pretty good, to OK ,to Naaaah in four episodes...

This last episode revealed every possible flaw, the characters were weak, the writing was repetitive, the cinematography below average.... I cannot blame the actors because everything else went down the drain so it's not really their fault but they really did not improve the game.

Looking for reasons, I saw that Tom Kapinos creator of this (writer of the first 3 episodes) and Californication seems to have stepped out. Mmmmm... maybe there is a juicy story there.

In any case I am probably out. Hopefully someone notices... Cheers

J
