The 9th Season of AVGN was always a bit mixed in my opinion. While I admit at least this time, I haven't seen the Sea Man Episode, I still think overall Season 9 is just alright. I do like how this is pretty much just the Turbo-Grafx 16 episode and the parts where he talked about the console were actually pretty good. I feel like the darkwing duck portion is kind of when the episode drops off. James isn't too familiar with darkwing duck so there's no real personal history or love for the topic he's talking about. I also feel the review in general just isn't that great. It's slow and drags on a bit. It wasn't the worst thing in the world but it was a big issue. The part at the beginning where he's playing a bunch of games trying to review them but doesn't have much to say was sort of funny I guess. The part where James has to pull himself toward the controller was a fun and creative sequence. Overall, it's one of the must just "Alright" episodes of AVGN the highest level I could call it would be Decent, I guess - Ian13 (8/18/23)
