Best Episode since "Target"
cotc9513 February 2015
Just when you thought the show was starting to go down hill and that the creators had lost their touch, they put together THIS amazing episode. Everything was set up amazingly well with the past 3XK episode - "Disciple" in a way that I did not see coming. The whole episode had a very creepy, tense, and anxious vibe to it that really kept me guessing. This episode was a wonderful surprise. I can't wait to see next week's episode, which is something I haven't been able to say in a long time.

Great job writers. I wish the were a lot more episodes/story lines like this one. I feel like the creators missed some opportunities with the themes that they used to have being more dramatic, serious, and intense. Because ever since the 5th season started, (and especially seasons 6 and 7) - the show has been very "happy-go-lucky" and in a bad way. There is a reason that the most highly- regarded episodes have a theme of intensity, drama, uncertainty, and high-stakes.

A taste of the original '3XK'

Warning: Spoilers
SPOILERS!

Oh no they did not!! Are 3XK & Nieman one of the best psycho-serial- killing duo's of TV? Possibly. Are they a cute couple?..the way they walked to elevators, hand in hand was oddly cute & creepy in equal measure. My only issue was Kate deciding to pick up Amy alone..which gave away Kate's kidnapping in advance. All in all 3XK's return was awesome & gripping and cut of a similar vein to his very first appearance in the episode '3XK' with the twists, turns & shocking revelations.

  • I wasn't really sure, even after Rick's realization about 3XK's mom down in the holding cells, but that intense scene in the interrogation room, the hand holding with Nieman & that sly wink at Castle surely left us in no doubt that Boudreau is definitely Tyson.

  • That fake baby tooth was definitely planted, even though it was some time ago not that 3XK expected Rick to crack open his true motivations, because 3XK is always thorough and doesn't leave any stone unturned.

  • I loved those flashbacks. It is refreshing to see my favorite show utilizing them seamlessly, like they did to much fan love in the episode 'Still'.

Incredibly intense episode

Warning: Spoilers
As usually in late Season 7, the writers did their best to make us forget how badly the season started. I always loved 3XK episodes because they were so dramatic and because the villain was so damn smart. This episode started in a way that would have never predicted the end. It was a cute scene at Castle's house, Martha was expressing gratitude to her son and Alexis threw a funny joke about signing up for an escort service and going to meet a client just to see if her dad was paying attention plus she was very sweet kissing Kate. Nothing let to see the most evil character in the series (even worse than senator Bracken, if you ask me) was about to strike again. It made perfect sense for him going after Kate after he failed to pin a murder to Castle and get his life ruined or even ended in a prison cell. However, I wasn't expecting him to be so bold and get himself a concrete alibi, being inside a police station with his evil partner while poor Kate was taking a shot in full street. I can barely wait for the next episode and, despite the fact I really enjoy 3XK episodes, I hope they will finally take him down like the rabid dog he is. Anyway, back to this episode, I loved it immensely and it gets a full 10/10 from me.

We will meet again

Warning: Spoilers
What a thrilling episode! 3XK episodes have been my favorites and his story is so well done. I love he keeps coming back and reminds me of good criminal mysteries. So interesting how he always manages to be one step ahead of them and outsmarting everyone . Finally a very smart murderer, very creepy too, and his return in this episode was nicely done.

This episode kept me at the edge of my seat the entire time, waiting for the moment they would find proof of him being Jerry Tyson and lock him up for good. And that stare in his soulless eyes is so creepy!! Also his accompany doctor too. Very good episode!

How predictable
omero-omero13 September 2022
Comes to mind "Quo usque tandem *omissis* abutere patientia nostra" the very moment one of the earlier antagonists is implicated in the episode. Then an even older acquaintance appears on screen and all doubts are removed.

The latin phrase roughly translates to: For how long more are you going to abuse our patience...

The title of the episode itself leads to the obvious conclusion

The efforts made by the cast are decent enough to keep the episode interesting, however the plot is rather weak, with the villains smirks and all the clues already there.

No one in the audience should get fooled by the cheap twists and red herrings at this point into the show.

It is not a terrible episode, it is... Predictable.

The worst episode of the whole show
nemesis-8824 November 2022
A psychopath killer who himself said that "it's not the killing that excites him but the preparation", comes back to the biggest city in the country and gets picked up by the police. His plastic surgeon accomplice comes back, too, "to groom victims" for him. WHY? Why couldn't they just stay wherever they were and do it all there?

And that's FAR from the only problem with "artistic license". It's been said hundreds of times that plastic surgeons cannot create a face to imitate someone else. It's simply impossible to rearrange all the bones and tissue and then makes them all grow back together to form a face "like on the photograph".

I seriously believe that they milked this "Jerry Tyson" theme way too thoroughly. Just how many times a villain can die and then return alive. Such a cliche.

This is the point when you stop watching

Warning: Spoilers
It is just too much. Even the Walmart security have more power to hold a suspicious felon in to custody than Backett's police station. Episode after episode people (killers) walk out of that station like from the barber shop, and detectives and Castle are behaving dumb in situations with real life danger. You'll have to watch it to see all the stupidity. You've lost the compass guys. Wrap it up while you can…

I used to love this show but after the "wedding" and season 6... something went wrong. I don't even want to start with Castles disappearance and collective amnesia about that "little thing that happened"

P.S. Show like this deserves better. It deserves an decent end. THE END!!!
