I love this because you get to see how the relationship between Shawn and Maya has grown and you see him being genuinely interested in Katy when before he may have been interested but he hid it because as when he was younger he's afraid of taking a chance on love because he is afraid of being hurt. That is why I love the scene at the end where Katy asks Shawn out and then Chet shows up telling him essentially that he deserves to be happy and that he should stop holding himself back from the possibility of finding something good in his life. When he agreed to go on the date and Chet said "That's my boy." You could see how proud he was but you also get the sense that this is the last time Chet is going to appear since Shawn is finally letting himself be happy. One thing I always wondered about is how many people know about Shawn being able to see and hear Chet b/c this is the second time Chet has talked to him in a roomful of people and both times while Chet is talking Shawn is just standing there staring into space and not saying anything for several minutes yet when he starts talking again nobody asks why he was just randomly staring into space. He told Angela in this ep "Yeah, he was barely there for me when he was alive but now that he's gone I can absolutely count on him to show up at the most important moments in my life." This is true in BMW the times Chet's spirit appeared to Shawn were the end of Road Trip which was his first appearance and though it caught Shawn a little off guard he seemed surprisingly calm about the whole thing, not at all scared but definitely both sad and happy. Happy to see his dad again but sad that he was gone and this led to a truly meaningful moment between the two. " I miss you." "I know but remember, I am always right here." As he touches Shawn's temple. Next was Family Trees when Shawn was questioning his identity after finding out Virna wasn't his birth mother he yelled at Chet's grave than Chet shows up and they have another meaningful conversation in which Shawn tells Chet that he's proud of him and that he loves him. Last for Boy Meets World was Brave New World Part 2. He shows up in the kitchen while Shawn and Jack are talking and if you watch Shawn's face you can tell he's reacting to the things Chet is saying because it looks like he is trying to control the urge to laugh out loud at his dad's wild commentary but when Chet walks out Shawn looks happy and at peace.
