This is a good short film. It's fun and light-hearted but keeps you engaged consistently with sharp turns in the writing, snappy editing and a score that provides rhythm to the film. Really showcases the talents of the writer/director and the three actors involved. The cinematography is nice and it's clear they paid a lot of attention to each shot.
The comedic beats work well, and the script gives the actors a lot of opportunity to play off one another in an effective way. Not much attention is given to the actual game of chess being played but my the end it's clear who's the fool's mate is. Would recommend.
