A Roller Coaster Of Truths

Warning: Spoilers
Well, eventually all lies lead to this kind of confrontation. That's what happened on this week's episode of Young Justice. "Summit" definitely showed us The Team has grown up besides the amount of issues they've had since the very beginning. Oh boy, that was a summit.

After months of planning, The Reach and The Light decided for a meeting to "talk", but like everything on this show, calm wasn't a choice. We learned (well, viewers already knew what these two bad guys teams were up to) their real plans to conquer and take over the planet, but the wild card from all this goes to Kaldur who showed off who the real master of espionage is against villains like Vandal Savage, or his dad himself Black Manta. In a well elaborated plan, his cover was revealed in a very subtle way. From the fact Ra's al Ghul realized the spell on Artemis to take off her collar and expose the plan from our Aqualad, immediately Deathstroke shot both Kaldur and Artemis, but we have seen some "deaths" on YJ so… they saw this coming and of course they're not. Deathstroke was no other than Miss Martian and starting from there, it comes the best part.

Just when we thought they could be apprehended or worse, the rest of The Team shows off and when said the rest of them, it's everyone, including our favorite Kid Flash. One of the best parts is Wally saying: "Hey Vandy! You missed me?" Hilarious! Glad to see the gang together and props to all the crew from the show with the action sequences. Thank you for the Nightwing part! In less than 10 seconds he stole the show with the kicking-ninja mode part. If there's a future on this series, they should focus on his combat skills. Or the Wally-Artemis reunion with the line "I so wanna kiss you now. Or maybe kill you for putting us through all this!" And of course the Aqualad-Black Manta fight showed us the great warrior Kaldur is, proving his loyalty to the good ones and giving a lesson to his father, who still can see he cares for his son even after the betrayal.

Fortunately, some members of The Light and The Reach were captured, Ra's al Ghul was stabbed courtesy of Black Beetle (we feel there's a Lazarus Pit waiting for him), the recording of the whole meeting was documented on the Artemis' collar to put an end on The Reach plans, The Ambassador was left by Black Beetle (who saved The Reach Scientist because he thinks she can use it) since he was "unfit" for making decisions leaving him behind. That's called Team Work folks, and was one of the greatest victories so far from our heroes. Then, Nightwing delivered The Team leadership to Aqualad on The Watchtower with Captain Atom and Red Tornado as witnesses.

In the end, Vandal Savage escaped with Klarion (which by the way was on a ring from Savage) and took over The Warworld beating Black Canary, Black Lighting and Captain Marvel expelling them from it and sending unconscious to The Watchtower. But that's not all. Black Beetle have decided to destroy Earth before the Green Lantern Corps arrive and leading us to the big finale on Saturday march 16th.

We really don't wanna say goodbye to this awesome series. After this episode, which is clearly the best so far, Young Justice still has the final episode and hopefully resolves many of the questions we have. But let's face it, it'll crash!

The Climax

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is the climax of the storyline taking place throughout this season. The entire season has showed Aqualad's strategic deception bear success which was represented this episode through his breaching of the summit. This confidential meeting between The Light and The Reach has changed the outlook of Vandal Savage to seem vulnerable for the first time in the series and susceptible to making mistakes that he could not foresee while having the narrative of the team be viewed as better prepared and wiser, learning from their previous experience and mistakes by working together to take down both the Reach and the Light. Aqualad and Artemis seemingly failing at deceiving those at the meeting to then pass away and then right after show that even their deaths were a scheme to catch both The Light and Reach off guard had me as a viewer on the edge of my seat. Black Manta being emotionally distraught with Kaldur coming to terms that he cannot accept his father's ideals was a very good conclusion to Kaldur's character development this season. The team also reuniting with Artemis after discovering she never passed away and accepting that Kaldur was a double agent and was still a member of the team head touching. This episode also shows that this instance will be the last time Vandal Savage considers the "sidekicks" beneath his notice and that from then on he will take them more seriously. His statement is not only rare praise, but a testament to how far the team has come from where they started. The team failing to work together has now developed into something greater that requires the Light's undivided attention. There is more that I would like to say but to the those who are reading, it is a phenomenal episode.
