When a bad script meets bad actors and an inept director

A truly badly scripted, acted, and directed movie. Foreign audiences might not catch the bad and utterly false acting but trust me, it is really awful.

While I am not an avid fan of all of the more famous directors of the so-called New Romanian Cinema (Porumboiu, Puiu, Mungiu), at least these guys know how to pick a good script, good actors, and how to direct a movie.

This is not the case of this director, Igor Cobileanski. I cannot help but wonder who was so stupid to finance it. If it was financed from state funds -- which happens in the case of some films here -- then the jury that decided to finance this movie should be fired. Avoid this movie at all costs!

The film continues the series of horrible movies made in Romania. Acting = zero! Stunts = zero! Script = Horrible!

The actors try, but they only manage to make fun of themselves with their sinister game! Most of them are not actors, they are singers, they are anything but actors. The Romanian acting school had great actors, who also played in international productions.

Those of today are a pale shadow of those before 1989. Everything is so lame...from the sets, weapons, acting, everything, everything, everything!

You can't have expectations from a scripted joke, written on your knee. You can say that it is an attempt at comedy, transformed into a grotesque parody!

Olimpia Melinte is the only ray of sunshine in this sinister film. But she doesn't manage to illuminate anything either...

All in all = better waste your time reading a book!!

I left after 20 minutes. My eyes would've melted otherwise

I cannot empasize how bad this movie is. The acting is just horrible... the scenes, the plot, the clichés. I honestly don't know how Sergiu Costache and Olimpia Melinte accepted to play in such a kitschy and awfully bad movie.

Do not waste your time or money on this.

Just bad

I was excited for another romanian movie this autumn, but my expectations felt after 1 minute. Bad acting, sound mistakes, fight scenes mistakes, wrong cars for the story (what cop drives a new X6 in the world?), wrong wrong wrong.

In the last 30 minutes we started laughing in the cinema because how bad it is.

What can i say more. Just dont go to this movie. I feel bad for the few good actors, Sergiu and others, who tried their best, but Rubi and the main cop were awful. Also how can you hear that the a dialogue line was spelled wrong and dont try to correct it, how much time did it take to record again a 15 words sentence?

Probably the worst movie I have ever watched

As the title says this is probably the worst movie I have watched, please do yourself a favour and choose a different movie.

Bad acting ( mainly because the actors were people that have nothing to do with acting however they are famous in Romania for the type of music that they create, the writer of this movie was a 14 year old, the visual/sound effects editor was inspired from a cheap head&shoulders commercial all the time, everything was out of sync and frewware effect that were poorly implemented.

If you are still fame for this movie, take some ear protection because the gun sounds are horrible.

I gave up after the first 30 minutes

Unfortunately, I couldn't watch this movie until the end. I have never seen anything worse, the actors play very fake, the story leaves much to be desired. In the distribution of the film, there are actors whom I really appreciate in other Romanian projects, so I don't understand why they acted so fake here... I'm a big fan of Romanian films, but unfortunately this is a big disappointment. I'm glad I watched it on Netflix and didn't spend money at the cinema... I think the disappointment was even bigger then than now. I hope the makers of the movie don't repeat the mistake of making such boring movies. I think this is the first time I couldn't finish a movie.

The worst movie I ever watched in my life.

This movie was the ugliest movie I've ever seen in my life. The director of the film should try another profession, it's clear that directing is not for him. How is it possible for this film to be distributed on Netflix? I don't understand, don't they even check before? Do they just buy any movie like that? It's unbelievable! I've seen bad Romanian movies before, but this one really tops them all. Poorly acted, directed, and edited. The sound is terrible. Come on, let's stop this. How did they even have the budget for this? How is it possible to spend so much money and in the end only manage to waste 1.5 hours of someone's life?

I've only watched 20-25 minutes before I gave up. It's so bad. I think anyone involved in this project should just quit this industry and reorient into a different career.

I think that one of the main actors is also the producer, director etc and just wanted to create a character portraying the life he wanted to live. I mean... an onest cop with a brand new bmw, affords to pay 3 hookers, and lives in a penthouse... really? On a Romanian's cop salary? Seems realistic.

All the other actors play their parts like they never acted in their life. If this is their main job, they should just quit.

Don't waste any time on this. I can't believe that someone put a lot if money into making this.

It does not deserve a grade lower than 5.3.

I'm not saying it was an exceptional action movie, but it was interesting and I don't think it deserves a grade lower than 5.3.

The action was suitable for an action movie, there were no banal scenes or scenes that would leave you with a bitter taste in your mouth. The action was fluent and the characters were well characterized, through the sly or dangerous style, but identifiable to each individual.

The film kept me hooked and I gave it the minimum mark that I think this film deserves. The idea behind the film is very simple and the way they implemented it was just as simple, convenient and solid.

Imagine that you are watching a film in which the main protagonist is one, but he has three other small protagonists next to him, who, in their turn, each have a little story of their own, throughout the film, and these little stories, plus the story of the main protagonist.. they converge at the end of the film, towards a scene that is in unison with the rest of the script from the last hour and almost thirty minutes.

It's that good.

I'm not doing a long review, but I recommend that you see it with an impartial eye, and maybe that way, it will impress you to some extent.

5/10 (minimum)

Great Comedy

I have seen it last weekend and I have enjoyed a good quality Romanian movie.

If you have not seen the movie, you should hurry as it is a must see.

It is a great comedy with nice twists, nice action moments, good director and a little bit of romance.

The actors are quite ok, surprisingly enough. The director, Igor Cobileanski has won multiple GOPO awards and this shows.

It is a nice movie and I recommend watching it at the cinema with a group of friends as you will not be disappointed by the music or the action moments . All my friends were thrilled by it and recommend not to miss it in cinemas.

Don't waste your time watching this movie.

"Wise Guys" falls short on every front imaginable. From abysmal acting to a lackluster storyline, it fails to engage viewers in any meaningful way. The characters lack depth, the dialogue feels forced, and the plot meanders aimlessly, leaving audiences bewildered and disappointed. Instead of subjecting yourself to this cinematic disaster, opt for the mindless yet entertaining distraction of scrolling through TikTok for 1.5 hours. Trust me, it'll be a more worthwhile use of your time. "Wise Guys" is a cinematic disaster with shallow characters, forced dialogue, and a meandering plot. Avoid at all costs.
