This is the episode most fans of the original anime might have been looking for, we get to see of what is happening with all the characters since the ending of the anime. We get to glimpse of Daru's future wife (finally the mystery is answered, not what I expected). But the best part is the bonding developing between the two MC's, simply beautiful.

One of the greatest love stories of all time ....

.... goes a little Seinfeld but loses none of its charm. Seeing this episode on its own is not recommended, but if you have watched (been mesmerized by) the first 24 you will enjoy seeing the writers flex their muscles as they tie up some loose ends and take a McLuhanesque turn where they remind the viewer that he/she is really the entertainment, the substance, not the content of the series. (Watch the last 10 seconds, and you will get that).
In spite of this, or perhaps because of it, this series remains not only one of the best animes of all time but has a love story within that will stand for the Ages. Truthfully before penning this review I read some other reviews by "professional" anime writers and they were just as gob-smacked as I.
While this episode lacks the EXTRAORDINARY punch of episodes 20-24, it is essentially a clinic in writing and animation from one of the best production teams on the planet.
((Designated "IMDb Top Reviewer." Please check out my list "167+ Nearly-Perfect Movies (with the occasional Anime or TV miniseries) you can/should see again and again (1932 to the present))

A nice ending

While unnecessary to the original story, there was one loose end which this episode covers nicely. This is a good fun upbeat episode which will make you smile at the end. I though the ending was very well done. This is another highly entertaining episode of steins gate, minus the tension.
