Zimbani is a parody of those old ITV shows such as The Champions and The Avengers with blue screen backdrops used to persuade you that you are in Africa along with a colonial house which was actually the manor house at Pinewood studios.
Julian Barratt is the wanted terrorist Zimbani. Colin Hoult is the cool, suave, womanising agent Lanarkos. He really is a bit thick.
David McNeil plays his boss Chester and he also puts on a fetching pink hat to play his mother that Lanarkos falls in love with. Told you he was thick.
This pilot is only 15 minutes long and really even then it was overlong as it was obvious the writers had an idea but no material to go with it. As parodies go, this is not funny or amusing.
