I couldn't quite work out what it was, but I enjoyed it.

Ed Detective Phil and retired SAS soldier Ken reunite with old friends at the funeral of a mutual friend. At the way the friends make a pact with one another, vowing not to let any of the suffer. Time passes, and one of the group, Tom, needs help.

There's no CCTV at sea.

I wasn't sure what this was going to be, I'd seen interviews, watched the trailers, and after episode one, I'm still not too sure.

A thriller, a drama, a love story? There's shades of everything in this. A look at euthanasia? A topic that's been dodged in The UK for decades, maybe this will get people talking.

One look at the cast list was enough Clarke Peters, Lindsay Duncan, Sue Johnston, Phil Davies and more, Duncan has forever been someone I could watch in absolutely anything, she's one of the very best, and shines once again.

8/10.

Warning: Spoilers
Truelove is helping you friends say goodbye. This is like checking out of the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel but the bill could be too high.

Phil (Lindsay Duncan) is a retired senior police officer. Ken (Clarke Peters) was once in the SAS. They used to be flames and reconnect at a funeral of an old friend.

After getting drunk at the hotel mini bar with other old friends such as Tom (Karl Johnson) and David (Peter Egan) who is a doctor. They make a drunken pact to help each other die when they become too ill.

Eight months later Tom contacts Phil and Ken. He has the full English of cancers leaving them in a dilemma. Do they end up killing their old friend and cover it up.

The first episode could easily had been morbid. A bunch of old geezers with aches, pains and bad prostate. There is levity here and there. More importantly it is carried by the acting. Not difficult with a cast that also includes Phil Davies and Sue Johnston.
