A complete Surprise..

This documentary was a complete surprise, I never imagined I could be so moved by a story. Even though the story itself is a powerful one, the director did a great job of telling it in a compelling, artistic and compassionate way. The story takes you on a journey to Cartagena, Colombia a place where I have never been but that after watching the documentary want to visit very much. I really enjoyed the visuals of Cartagena and was mesmerized by the story of what happened there. It's amazing to think that something like what happened in Cartagena, has actually happened in other places around the world. Not only did I really enjoyed the combination of a very compelling story combined with visually stimulating footage. This documentary really takes you for a ride, I was sucked in from the start and couldn't stop watching until the end. I highly recommend it!

Destinos Interrumpidos is a highly recommended documentary with an outstanding cinematographic level, and, being an excellent documentary, it highlights and makes this real life story very attractive through a very impressive narrative sensibility. This documentary exposes its plot through the voices of both families that were affected, and whose characters we feel we love, because through their tales they touch our hearts, while at the same time it takes us on a journey across the beautiful and magical city of Cartagena de Indias, in Colombia; these elements make up a structured narration that generates in us, the audience, feelings of drama, unexpected suspense and genuine emotion. About Destinos Interrumpidos,I can say that the whole time I watched it, it kept me very interested, glued to the screen, and emotionally committed to the story. Congratulations to the directors for an impeccable product worth watching!

A must see film

Destinos Interrumpidos (Interrupted Destiny) is an amazing documentary film that would keep you glued to your seat till the end. I first saw this film at a film festival, where the powerful narrative of the film made the audience go "wow". Although there have been movies or TV shows about being switched at birth, they compare nothing to Destinos Interrupidos. The story unfolds in the beautiful, coastal town of Cartagena, Colombia where two kids are accidentally switched at birth by the hospital staff. The boy born to a well to do family is passed onto a family not so fortunate in life's luxuries. And the boy from the ordinary family is given to the rich family. Although, the families live only about 20 minutes apart, the two boys grow up without knowing the trick destiny played on them: until age 26 when they meet face to face for the first time. This documentary is a roller coaster of emotions, surprises, tears and lost moments and memories. The filmmakers have done a marvelous job in telling the story of the two families with sensitivity and objectivity without losing the powerful narrative that underlies this film. The documentary features superb cinematography, capturing the beauty of Cartagena and subtle nuances of the environments in which the two young men grow up. Combined that with flawless editing and perfect music, you'll find yourself watching this movie more than once! I highly recommend this film to anyone.
