A once-in-a-lifetime performance from Mandy Moore.
elliottremblay12 May 2022
The quality of This Is Us in this episode is totally explosive and memorable. I am totally speechless. Losing a mother is terrifying and this show captures that loss so perfectly. It's as sad as it is beautiful at the same time. Everything is so realistic, the makeup is amazing and Mandy Moore's performance amazes me more and more with each episode. I firmly believe that we will never see a performance spanning 6 years, over 100 episodes, featuring different age states. It's a once-in-a-lifetime performance. It is remarkable, it is infinite and unforgettable. Even though Rebecca loses her memory, WE will always remember her and the wonderful mom she was until her last breath.

Next week's episode may be the most heartbreaking thing I've seen in my entire life, as someone very attached to their mother. Everyone call your mom and tell her you love her. Get ready, it's going to be intense. I can not wait.

Beautiful. Just beautiful.

Warning: Spoilers
Boy, how much I cried in this episode is insane. Thank God I was alone.

Seeing Rebecca's life coming full circle is heart-wrenching. How she went from the amazing bubbling young mother who was always there for her kids, to the being helpless, severly ill, immersed in the severe stages of Alzheimer's is heartbreaking.

I love how the Big Three are paying her back now by being there for her: brushing her, tying her shoes, taking her for a stroll in the park. This was so heartwarming to watch. Just a proof that whatever you do to help and take care of your mother when you grow up, will never be enough.

Mothers are everything.

Big 3 "plus" for Rebecca
dolphiea11 May 2022
Alzheimer's is so cruel, it certainly does not care how sweet and lovely it's victims are. Watching a beloved parent slowly being taken can bring families closer, or, tear them apart. For Rebecca's Big 3 (Plus), it seems to be the former. Hopefully the next 2 episodes will not be as devastating as the last 2. The only thing cutting through the pain are Beth's witty quips.

Brilliant

This episode has broken me. So so sad to see this series end, but they're doing it right. If you've ever had to watch a loved one, especially your mother, deteriorate at the end of their life, brace yourself.

So sad, how extremely it is hard for anyone to losing his mother.
wisamo-9211 May 2022
Realy, How sad it is to accept the end of mother's life, (no matter however the way and whatever age it is).

In general, how do we accept the end of this series?! Do you think maby it is possible one day to repeat the experience with another series?

Those strong feelings and interconnected personalities in the finest style. The elaborate and creative direction and the woven and attractive scenario. In my opinion, it is very difficult to see a series like The Pearson Family.

It is time to say goodbye.

The end is near, but the love is endless

This episode was too much - so so emotional, brilliantly written and acted.. Really, lost for words (which is not often the case with me).

Just give them all the Emmys and the Globes in the world.

Heartbreaking

Wow. They just keep ramping up the emotions now with each new episode. I think this was the first time ever a television show made me almost go into hyper ventilation. I just felt so many different emotions all at once. I think that's all that needs to be said. Masterful.

I'm an emotional wreck yet again!
jaypers-4757712 May 2022
Have just finished watching this latest episode, Family Meeting. I'm in the UK and we have to wait 2 days until after it airs in the US so I'm always careful not to read any spoilers. It's hard to put into words how this show makes me feel, but as a man in his 50's it's one of the few things that has me in tears every week. I think it is all down to the fact that there are so many things that people relate to in this show as fundamentally it is about life and family. The juxtaposition here of your parents looking after you when you are growing up and then the whole thing being turned around on its head when you become old and in this case sadly afflicted with an awful disease is presented in an exceptional way. The acting, without exception, is also some of the best I have ever seen in any TV show and for me in particular, hats off to Sterling K. Brown who is absolutely fantastic. On a personal note, I have been thinking about my own mum who I lost nearly 10 years ago now. This show invokes so many personal memories in parallel to the actual story itself. Just brilliant in every way and I will be so sad when the series comes to an end in 2 weeks.

They pulled me back in....
marymcfarland-0186611 May 2022
For weeks, I've been not feeling this show anymore,, and watched out of some bizarre obligation to TV. I've been hating on Kate and Kevin and their entire spoiled selves for at least 2 seasons, and a put a little hate on Randall with his never-ending need to control everyone.

This episode redeemed the Big 3 for me. Not since the pilot have I enjoyed an episode so much. We saw more growth in the Big 3 in this one episode, than we have in the entire series.

Beth was the Rock of Gibraltar. Sophie proves she should have always been there. Phillip proves he deserves to be there.

Showing Rebecca as a "single mother" was brilliant.

Bout time y'all gave me some season 1 feelings about these characters.

2 thumbs up.

Wonderful episode, yes, but let's hear it for Beth.
orthohawk8 June 2022
She is Wonder Woman in this episode. From her instantly recognizing what's happening with the Big 3 when she, Phil, and Sophie got back from getting the coffee, to her herding the spouses to the cabin knowing the Big 3 had to do what they had to do ALONE, to her setting Phil straight after his (somewhat understandable, considering his short history as a Pearson) rant about Sophie's and Beth's joking around in the midst of all the heartbreak, to her cutting thru Randall's BS of only seeing his sibs as the weak screw ups of their youth and himself as the Savior, and reminding him (opening his eyes to the fact that?) those versions of his siblings just don't exist any more. I really hope everyone has a Beth in their lives.

"This is why there is three of us!"

Warning: Spoilers
Kevin Pearson delivers again. Is it possible to not cry this season? The answer is no. The show always comes together with 5 minutes left and this week was no exception.

I am so glad Kevin built that house or should I say; that compound!!!!

The hardest decisions
hobogirl-3960312 May 2022
Everyone should count their blessings if, they've never had a loved one go through this. To watch someone lose their memory is a terrible hardship on everyone. Heartfelt condolences to anyone that's gone through it. It's a painful experience.

Perfect

This show keeps surprising me and I just love it. This last season has a bitter-sweet taste to it because I don't want the show to end. However, it seems it's going to end on a very high note.

Perfect

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was perfect ... my tears didn't stop for about 20-25 out of 42 mins runtime ..

Seeing Rebecca old and not speaking or not being responsive like the Rebecca we're used to is just heart breaking .

I've been thinking about my Mom a lot lately and even though we don't have the perfect relationship I know that we love each other more than anything .. and As time goes by I'm so scared of losing her and watching this episode just destroyed me ..

This is the most realistic tv has ever been .. no fake acting no silly lines just perfection .

Mother Loss
ibrahimfneich11 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
We have seen Jack's death and it was extremely heartbreaking, especially when you see how a great father/husband he was, and how he "sacrificed" himself. But Man, the Mother is everything, she is in the little details, she is everywhere.... This episode will be hard to someone who has experienced his mother death or her mental illness in her last days.

I love this show, i love the fact that i'm crying at these episodes...

Great farewell
pablo_moriano14 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Of course she did deserve a nice episode like this one to say goodbye to every and single member of this family. A different kind of memorial service where Pearsons act just the way they are and that's why we love and equally miss this show.

This is it
saull2812 May 2022
IMO The whole series was about this moment: To Love Responsibly: even when all odds were against us: Randal the underdog black adopted orphan kid vs the natural adversary the semi-entitled white kid, natural son, the white daughter girl with overweight and self-esteem problems with learning problems 'coz mom dropped on her head as an infant; so pretty much the average people anywhere will be ID with any of the characters in the series, as it was portrayed and the name indicates so; and yet, the lesson is: never give up, something good will give in and you'll get your day in the Sun: we all have a role to play in Society, no exeptions. This is us.

It move me to tears inevitably, it touched too close to home; for me was a message: we can't be loved exactly as we need, deserve or want to, just as is possible, and within possibility: the probability of getting it as much, and as long as we can, which unfairly, is neither always, as it should be; but we must always try to make the best out of every crumb of love or good relationship we're fortunate enough to encounter in our walk of life. My mom is 70+ and has started to forget some things and losing her eyesight and hearing; breaks my heart seeing her vanish a piece daily, like their mom, but fortunately not with a disease, just old age, so I hugged her and started to cry, for failing to love her unless it was on my terms or as I think I deserved, 'coz fair!... Love isn't about fairness, love is about a deep need to care and protect, the goodness and tenderness, of the people we love, despite our imperfect way of loving each other. The fact that we're imperfect at Love, it makes the act of loving, ever more subtly noble, wise, brave and beautifully tolerant; all these, increases the value our love and understanding of each other, for a harmonious coexistence.

Let's all try to accept our imperfections, differences and weirdness and love each other for the quality of persons that we are, not by foolish prejudice, because we're all complementary to each other; that's the nature of the Universe, and if you believe that a God(s) made the Universe, then its functioning is indeed Their Word, hence the Natural Order, we have to be wise enough to recognize it, in each of us.

1) Truth, is the only thing we should seek 2) Love is Wise, Hate is Foolish

The big three show UP!!!
kelley12312 June 2022
The whole series led up to this episode where the big 3 banded together for the ultimate episode of true love. The growth each one has over the years led up to this very moment.

IT S THE CIRCLE OF LIFE
JoacoRacing291 March 2023
But not anyone can show it in this perfect version in which children learn to love fighting with their egos to finally, before the great challenge, return that unconditional love. It s not easy. The Lion Kind did it in its way, This is Us accomplishes the very difficult task of showing us through a story, a human and probable way of living life, receiving, learning, struggling but above all, as the series said, "offering without expectations". And I believe this is a beautiful way to understand the circle of life.

There is two chapters left. But at this point I must say the work is done. This Is Us.

TO Boring filler episode
ahicks-4416712 May 2022
Why are you still watching ? To the Boring filler episode. How can you legitimately say that was Boring or filler are you even paying attention? This is about a legitimate family dealing with a major issue. How do you expect it to play out in your perfect book. I have lost a family member to alzimers! My grandmother forgot who I was she remembered the love of her life at the end . But it's no picnic and if you were expecting some grand all telling there is none. You obviously don't get it. It's not about that it's about love and family and that is it. If you are expecting something more exotic then go watch a thriller or horror movie!

Life Is Too Short, Live Every Single Day Like It is Your Last
shelbythuylinh14 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Kate really is the fan favorite. And Rebecca in her will wanting the only daughter to be the caretaker. As she is juggling her own family and new marriage while seems to be closer to Rebecca the mom.

Randall is all about himself sadly and grown from being liked to being disliked though not the fault of Sterling K Brown's by any and all means. And really Randall is more concerned about his own political career.

Kevin is trying to find someone to love him and he has abandonment issues like Randall but both men have different reasons. As they claim that they are too busy for their own mother now that also her tragically and sadly, Miguel second husband has passed on.

Just hope Kevin can find a woman that will love him but he has his twin children there to say the least.

Toby seems to still want to be with Kate but Kate is very smart enough to leave him and that she finds Phillip to be decent and loving her for who she is.

Beth hopefully will make coming to her husband Randall come to his senses. Before it is too little too late as the big three seem to have relationship issues.

Live every single day like it is your last. Don't hold grudges as hard as it is.
