"The word 'cool' is dead to you. Please never use it again."

Warning: Spoilers
So, Kate is finally persuaded that it's all right for Steph to speed around the countryside running people over and killing them. The show seems to be doing its best to exonerate her but the whole thing stinks of cop out and requires the viewer to accept what they're being told as gospel rather than analysing the situation and wondering whether any competent driver would take a blind bend next to a clear crossing point at a speed where they're likely to kill whoever's crossing. It's hard to tell whether Steph's "I'll get them to leave you alone" speech is her trying to convince Kate she's a nice person or the writers trying to convince the audience. But either way it just comes across as emotional blackmail.

If you fast forward through that plot line, there's some rather nice father/daughter bonding scenes between Michael and Natasha and some romantic, if rather cheesy, scenes between Michael and Rebecca. It's a nice touch that Michael actually backs off, since from his perspective Rebecca's a married woman. It makes you long for the days when Neighbours was a heart-warming family drama instead of a series of morally ambiguous stunt story lines.
