Sad and funny blended together
Watching 'Perdida Mente'(Mind Loss) was a mixed-bag. Not because of having good and bad parts but because of the feelings that this movie can give to you. You feel lost (ironic?), confused, sad, scared but still laughing at the innocence of the characters. In a way, it's a mind trip and despite the sadness, you will enjoy the ride.

There are two keys for such amazing experience in this movie: the relation between the two main characters, Joaquim (José Airosa)and Teresa (Eunice Correia)feels completely natural. One feels completely lost in the world and the other while trying to maintain the right path with the constant sense of responsibility, deep down feels perhaps even more lost.

The other key is, while the movie is incredibly subtle, you can easily understand the reasons of the different scenes not only because of the performances but also because of the sceneries that despite being ordinary, have a great sense of colour that fits amazingly well. Just the fact that everything looks simple in this movie, makes everything enjoyable because there is enough complexity in the characters altogether.

'Perdida Mente' is a very complex and subtle movie and yet it's very humble, all of which makes the movie a very enjoyable experience.
