A darn good episode.

I strongly disagree with the other reviewer. I thought this was one of the best episodes of any season. We saw traits from the other cast members we had never seen before. Brennan is getting funnier and looser, and finally using some karate again (she also looked fierce brandishing that shotgun!) David Alan Grier is not one of my favorites, either, but he nailed Science Dude and made him a funny, multi-faceted character! It also had two strong guest characters, the two bounty hunters. (I would love to see either one of them make another appearance on future shows) And of course Caroline always makes whatever episode she is in better.

It Works

It's worth watching the entire show to see Brennan in that outfit at the end. Cam brings a children's TV star and ask Brennan if she will appear on his show. He is an outgoing (sickening to adults) purveyor of the scientific method. He is giddy and outrageous. He strikes a deal with Brennan that if he can help her solve a case, she will appear on the show. A man's head and hands have been found in a dumpster. They become the case. But mixed into the plot are a bounty hunter and a series of red herrings. Brennan is so resistant for so long but she eventually sees that she can do some good for the future of her field, especially for little girls.

Mostly good. One very disturbing moment.

This episode is a good one. I love the addition of the Science Dude and appreciate that this is science I can follow. A potato gun! The troupe jokes are ridiculous but make me laugh. It's a solid episode. What I appreciate less is during the final scene. Does Booth place a small, unknown -to-him child *in his lap*? That is too much to handle. Talk about something that doesn't hold up over time!

I honestly have nothing else to add. Can we discuss the character length requirement of these reviews? Goodness. Sometimes you just want to share an observation and move on. Absurd. So, filling in extra space... .

I loved it. The cutest episode ever Very Funny.

The ending was adorable. Enuf said.

For me what makes this show funny is watching ' Bones ' deadpan as set up by the other actors. This episode gave her a lot to deadpan with. I wonder what the outtakes were like, she had to be cracking up.

Another reviewer was upset at the choice of guest star. Get over it. For this part he was well cast. Some other shows he's been in, not so much. If he annoys you that much, don't watch the episode to begin with. His name is right up front with the credits.

The other thing I love about the show is giving us what we love in forensics cop shows while laughing at the pomposity of them. Lately mystery books have been dominated by forensic heroes and recovering alcoholics, don't get me started with the vampires. Please, somebody stake Edward already. This episode is why the only forensic cop I watch anymore is Bones. Come back William Peterson.

Hi bones booth!

Bullet point kinda day.. Love the science dude Love a Hannah free episode (sorry kinda not tho) Love the opening scene with the weird kids and his whole little "fact" lines Love bones' perfect murder banter Love that we are getting some of the same chemistry of b &b but not quite the lovey dovey closeness but the fighting banter & even how he gives her the thumbs up at the end!

Love how they all smile & watch her perform for the kids - ms Julian is so cute how she looks choked up almost Overall I rly enjoy this episode every time I rewatch! Love how you are guessing till the end!

One of my top ten favorite episodes with some of the best lines. "When science gets icky, it's okay to be si*vomits into trash can*" - - "Woah! You made a bazooka?" "If you mean a potato bazooka then yes." - - Angela says what we all are thinking, that Temperance is an awful name. Special appearance by "The Lab" sign from the season 4 finale. I would love to read some fan fiction of Dr. Brennan carrying out her perfect murder and Booth can't catch her. I have no doubt she'd get away with it. The one negative of the episode is the very brief scene in Sweets' office, that would not be written today.

Great mix of intelligence & humor

David Alan Grier does a fantastic job of combining scientific thought and expression for both adults and children (as the host of a science show for children). His character demonstrates the importance of involving children in scientific discovery and Brennan agrees to appear on his show in costume - very uncharacteristic but absolutely endearing. I place a high value on science, humor, and the importance of raising children with the ability to think and reason. This episode is absolutely delightful in this regard.

The character of "Bones" - a strong, intelligent female lead who applies rational thought and advanced vocabulary - has begun to influence me to practice these attributes in my own daily activities.

Body and the Bounty Hunter

I have always liked Bones, and own the entire series on DVD. I generally like this episode, but noticed something during a tv re-run today that I missed before. Why, at the end, does Booth slide into a chair and make a little girl sit in his lap? It would be different if it were Parker, but it's not. All the other adults Booth was standing with are still standing while Bones and the Science Dude are interacting, but not Booth. He could have sat on the floor, or just continued to stand. I know Booth likes kids, but it's just an odd thing to throw into the show. Where are the little girl's parents in all this? Very inappropriate. He should know better as an FBI Agent. It's no different then a strange man taking a child's movie theater seat and holding her in his lap for the show! No one would allow that to happen.

I am not sure why but when David Alan Grier is the guest star it's a sign that a show is in its last season. Perhaps it's because I don't see Grier as funny but over the top. I admit he has a considerable resume; but it isn't a winning resume or perhaps I just don't get him. Regardless, this is not a winning episode for a rather solid series. It begins interesting enough with Bones, Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan, indicating if she plotted a murder she would be able to commit the perfect crime. After that interesting premise which is completely ignored for the rest of the episode, the rest of the episode can easily be ignored. It is only Patricia Belcher as Caroline Julian who provides any interest. Perhaps her character should have "CJ the attorney dudette." Bill Nye the Science Guy might go into hiding after this oblique homage.
