We have been fighting these "enemies" for years now, watching them killing our favorites characters, watching them betray us and now Isayama is making us cry for them....how did he do that? Just absolutely amazing

The story is where Attack on Titan shines the most

After the Action-packed first episode, A very Informative and symbolical Episode: Typical AOT

Well as a manga reader, I know what's to come. This episode, and even the first episode was just calm before the storm. This episode really sets up the characters, emotions, state of mind and specially reiner's stand-point, which will become crucial later. No Titans in this episode, and no real big action. CGI wasn't bad but wasn't insanely good either. Typical AOT episode I'd say... slow build up and subtle info-dump which will lead to one of the greatest plot reveals in whole of anime history xD
What a story

Warning: Spoilers
Bruh there are still 14 hours left for release and I am already seeing a lot of 10 stars and 1 stars for no reason. Don't be deceived by these the episode is yet to be released
I will edit once the episode is out and write my review
So the episode is out but without subtitles
So I would still recommend to stay away from the reviews
The episodes is officially out now To be on the safer side I would only recommend reading reviews from 14th December
So here's my review I think this is a great episode and also calms down the tone of the show compared to the last ep. Even more new characters are introduced and you see how truly brainwashed the eldians living in marley are. Also we have some Reiner mystery thing going on which will pay off. The show seems promising and I hope it goes only uphill from here
Good luck Mappa

While this episode may have less action... it was jammed packed with character development and world building. On top of that the way all of it was presented was truly perfect and had my full attention from beginning to end. Reiner really steals the show here... between the scene of him and falco on the train... or him referencing his memories of everyone at dinner I was glued to every word.... Kicking off his speech with not sharing a fair share of the potato was honestly so subtle but powerful and something we would have never thought of... Kudos to mappa as well... The studio transition to me at least seams completely normal and not distracting to me. I actually really enjoyed the art in this episode and the scene where they look out the window at the cgi water looked really cool!
Season 4 is just getting better

Although the first episode was better this is a much needed follow up that dives deeper into the charecter motives and backstories while expanding on the plot and introducing two already interesting charecters Galliard and Pieck. Really great episode can't wait for the next and everything onwards.
Calm before the storm ?

Well, you sure would haven't enjoyed the episode much but it was a crucial episode for the future of AoT (Oh no, I am not a manga reader). There's still no introduction to the main characters from the Paradis island . Next episode could be a blow to your mind (I think so because story development was good in this episode) . Oh wait let's talk about animation , it was poor (compared to WIT) , the images were blurry.
Animation : 6/10 Music : 6/10 Plot : 8.5/10 Overall : 7/10
Hope next one will be a blow..

Cartoon graphic and low fram rate
pourianourishad18 January 2022
In the fourth chapter, comic photos with lip and mouth movements are placed on them. And really made for kids with these bad graphics. Some of the moments are completely cartoonish and childish, and the Fram Rate is fragmentary and nerve-wracking.
Beautiful episode thanks mappa

This episode was great and I don't know why people giving it one star.Yeah i get it there some frame rate problem while walking.but beside this everything was perfect.camera angle, plot,Dialogue, music. So at least give it 9. Some people wants to see titans action.i am a manga reader just wait it will worth it.dont give it 1,2,3,4.because It does not deserve that.
Thank you

When you feel sorry for the people that have been the enemies the past 7 years...
nicolasabcdefg14 December 2020
... you know it has been written by Isayama. We get a lot of insight of the goals, morals, happiness and deep trauma of the "evil" side of the story. The soundtrack and inner dialogue increased the effect of realizing that these people are in fact humans.
As a manga reader I can assure you that the studio did a great job at animating certain key scenes. There were some additions not found in the manga that did a great job of showcasing the effects of the aftermath of years of war.

Continuing excellence

The second episode of season 4 is much more plot heavy compared to introduction, while I might have preferred the previous episode a tad bit better, I definitely liked the way this episode developed it's cast. It feels as if the first couple of episodes are going to focus on these new set of characters. To understand how the politics in this world works, how desperate the situation for both the Marleyans and Eldians is, it all led to an interesting and entertaining episode. Learning of Ymir's fate truly reminds us as the audience that the stakes in aot are high as ever before. My favourite scene was the one Reiner shared with his family - just a really good scene reflecting back on his years spent on paradis island and his twisted and demonic viewing of his former "supposed" friends adds a layer of complexity to him.
I'm hoping Mappa this continues to show this level of quality, and besides a few scenes where the motion felt a bit off, this episode was extremely well executed.
Let's get started shall we?

That episode has one of the best rhythms and as an adaptation that it has in all of SNK. Dan knowing the antagonists and giving a lot of information that they serve those who come in the following episodes, the designs are very faithful to the manga and the brightness is simply incredible.
