So happy with tonight's episode - Jason Bateman was a delight and the skits consistently hit. Also great variety of cast members both old and new - lots of Cecily and always love when Pete and Colin riff together. The Stu short was also awesome as was Kyles.

The cold open was hilarious, the Eminem skit was fantastic, the weekend update segment was spot on, Santa Claus at the mall was the funniest skit I died laughing!
Jason Bateman was a great host. Cecily Strong is possibly my favourite castmember right now she's so good.

Dull Stale Unfunny

The opening segment featured an elderly man repeatedly farting.
Incontinent jokes are just NOT funny.
Then Guest Host Jason Bateman told a story about having a monkey put down. In what universe is this even remotely comedic.
The first skit featured a teenage girl's slumber party. Bateman, as the father of one of the girls, complains that one of the girls has left menstrual blood on a sofa pillow. HOW is this anything but horribly horribly wrong, creepy, and again unfunny.
The current team of writers is the WORST in the five decades the show has been on the air. They are an embarrassment to the concept of comedy. NBC needs to replace these LOSERS with people who actually understand "funny"

Weekend update is a staple of SNL and these guys ruin it every week with their fake laughter. Laughing at you OWN jokes? That they have probably read and heard two dozen times before actually being on the air? How could a joke be funny to the ones who wrote it, when it's not even funny to the audience. Watch Akroyd and Curtain, that's how W.U. is supposed to be done.
