Annoying, but relatable

This episode was frustrating to watch. Linda's mother is difficult to watch as well and it's irritating how Linda yields to everything her mother says. A lot of the comments regarding this episode are relaying how annoying it is. But I think that's the point, it's frustrating, but how many people have family members that fit into that category. You love them, but they're the worst. And it's so much easier to just keep them happy. I love how they portrayed Bob as being so fed up, but puts Linda's happiness above all else. I think this is a type of "real life" episode that so many people can relate to, loving your family but wanting to tear your hair out as well.

Another terrible lesson

I absolutely love this show, but I HATE how the writers continually push the dangerously unhealthy idea that one should simply tolerate someone's toxic behavior just you're related.

Don't Tolerate Awful Behaviour Just Cause They're 'Family'

Oh man, this one is painful...

We're supposed to laugh at how inept and silly and old Linda's mom is acting, but it isn't funny. Just because someone is old does not make them stupid, and Linda's mom is just stupid in this one.

And once again, Bob and the family are forced to run around like headless chickens to look after a family member that is acting selfish and awful.

This isn't funny. It's just infuriating.

Bob's Burgers is at its best when it's being sweet and heartfelt. And at its worst when it's pushing the idea that awful family should be constantly supported because they're blood relatives.

Just look at how the Belchers enable Gail's awful behaviour, never giving her the chance to grow and keeping her in a state of perpetual awfulness for eternity, and you'll see what I mean.

Also, Linda's mother yelling all the time is so annoying to listen to that my ears started to bleed after a while.

Omg I COULD NOT stand Linda's mom in this episode. Got through the first 5 minutes then had to shut it off because her nagging voice was just sooo annoying!!!
