Made me miss the forest

This episode will get grief for focusing less on the locals and more on the immigrants/backpackers. But none the less fascinating in it's focus on change in philosophy of life and food for those that live next door to a Starbucks.

Costa Rica communes

An interesting look into Costa Rican sustainable communes, the fruits harvested looked fresh and delicious. The idea of being more connected to the food we eat resonates.

Whitewashing Costa Rica
smvanderslik16 August 2020
This show so far has been so fascinating and respectful and this episode just falls short. It feels incredibly disrespectful to the people of Costa Rica to do an episode on their country and only speak to white people. Costa Rica is carbon neutral. Why not highlight that and speak to actual native Costa Rican's. This episode was so disappointing.

A Disconnected Look on a Beautiful Country

Although many valid points and interesting were made, I believe the focus of the episode should have been on the local community rather than on immigrants changing their way of life. For many years, the habitants of Costa Rica have been doing a great preservational work themselves. Why not give them the respect and focus they deserve? Sadly, feels very disconnected ans disrespectful to me.
