It could have been an average revenge thriller but Burcu Biricik pushes it beyond that. She creates a memorable character that gives the series a real emotional depth. Don't mean to be obnoxious but people have won Oscars for lesser performances.

Another Fine Film from Turkey
AJ_McAninch29 April 2021
Burcu Biricik is wonderful, and so are many Turkish films I'm discovering during the Pandemic when I am working from home and have more time to explore. She is riveting, electrifying, and heartbreaking in this story of a mother, her son, and hidden truths. Her character is also brave and tough as proverbial nails. My only reservation is some of the direction is a bit erratic, and the bad guys are wimps next to Fatma! Loved the film: strongly recommended.
Once you start watching you can't stop

Watch one episode and your hooked on Fatma

This woman is a cleaner in many ways. I am happy to now be aware of interesting story lines coming out of Turkey. The Gift is another series from there that also draws you in from the start. Fatma has some suprising situations that arise out of nowhere. She cleans offices and homes and gets constant phone calls that hang up on her. Where is her just released husband from prison ? He's nowhere to be found and Fatma wants answers.
Really Good

The series is good and binge worthy , acting is phenomenal from the main lead . There are some stupid moments in it that could've been avoided or written better (like how Bayram left the safe open at Ep.1) .
Otherwise it's a good thriller .

Acting is good but scenario is not

Warning: Spoilers
Burcu Biricik ia acting great but there is gaps in the scenario. (spoiler alert) in first episode, she is taken to the police station with the pistol inside her bag. All the police stations have xray at the entrance. How can she enter there with the pistol? On the other hand, she wears the same coat but no one suspect her. C'mon.
FATMA!!

Emotional roller coaster ride through characters...like putting an intricate puzzle together. I loved Fatma's invisibility, her cleverness, her on the edge "crazy woman" demeanor and her kickass way of dealing with her loss and anger. Please, may there be a season 2, since this was season 1.
The first few episodes are misleading

After 'Ethos' (Bir Baskadir), this is another Turkish series about a cleaning lady.
At first, this seems like a feminist revenge movie and not very exciting or believable at that (plain-looking cleaner gets away with murder every time).
If you keep watching, however, the main character (Fatma) gradually becomes more and more layered and the lead actress' performance makes her more and more credible.
I'm warning you that by the end, this story gets heartbreakingly sad, don't watch it if you're looking for something lighthearted.

One woman's show

Excellent show, the main character is hipnotizing. You feel that all your attention is concentrated in her face, nobody else exists.
In the last years turkish movies and series are so unique, so different.
Watch it, you won't be sorry....

Riveting series

The plot has some gaping holes in it. The police are so dumb that they cannot catch the killer in spite of substantial evidence including video footage virtually after murder. The series though is riveting and well acted and directed.
Excellent acting, very nice cinematography!

It represents the lower class Turkish culture very well and you can easily understand that the writers know the culture of the country from the heart. I really liked the plot and found it unique. Acting is amazing and it represents the particular part of Turkish people.
One expression Fatma!
iwfriesen27 April 2021
I'm only on episode 2 but am struck by a couple of things. Firstly Fatma seems to be invisible. Even when she's caught on camera and seen by Witnesses the police never know what she's done. Secondly Fatma only has one expression and demeanour. I'm guilty I'm guilty I'm guilty!
Amazes me the good reviews

Breath-taking Turkish tv series Fatma

Not a moment in the film is wasted;this is from start to finish a rewarding and strangely beautiful drama with a conclusion that is immensely satisfying in its touching understatement. Well done Burcu Biricik and the full cast.
Brilliant: Story, Acting, Direction, Music

After a big diet of Hollywood movies, I stumbled on this gem. Didn't know Turkey produced such awesome serials.
Very good layers, characters, all very well interconnected.
I binged-watched it in a day. Highly recommended.

Burcu Biricik moves one's deepest senses which is such a defining dimension
of being a human..
Too often, the plight of the less able at coping with the complex systems within which increasingly they may need to struggle. We in Canada, have some meaningful.voices but require more from everwhere. This art-film with Burcu Biricik is proof of a powerful voice from Turkey.
Let the climbing continue together Edward.

Serial killer against her will.
searchanddestroy-111 May 2021
The basic idea of this more than feminist series is that the poor lead female character, serial killer against her will, can kill anyone on earth and get away because no one can notice nor recognize her. But if you watch out closely to her glance, her eyes, she looks like a rabbit spot in a car lights. If I was a cop running on a crime scene and meeting such a "normal" woman on the street, I would question her ONLY because of that "guilty" glance of hers. See what I mean? Besides, that's a pretty tense and suspenseful series. But I will get back to this series when I will have finished it.
World Class Acting
san-nurtas27 April 2021
Fan of Yilmaz Güney, Nuri Bilge Ceylan I am more fan of the Turkish art movies than series. Being curious and biased of Turkish series 'culture' I gave myself the joy to see my prejudice confirmed. Just to see I I could hold my concentration for just one full first episode. Also because I know Ugur Yücel as an artist I appreciate. But this miniserie Netflix made in Turkiye stunned me. Especially Burcu Biricik. Outstanding and hypnotizing play. Even her village styled dialect Turkish is very convincing. But many others are at the same game. Dark, suspenseful, psychological and emotional but without the Turkish dramatic crying, yelling nor overacting. Turkish cinema is getting more and more interesting again. My bias became an apology.
Crazy

IDK why ppl are writing such fine reviews about it
After watching this I'm wondering if police can really be that dumb in turkey
Story is alright but there are so many logic less scenes that i was not able to digest
Some people may find it watchable but honestly I have regretted watching this mini series
What can i say i was blinded by such positive reviews.
Stunning

The best Turkish series this particular viewer has seen on Netflix
ChungMo1 August 2021
While I'm a fan of Turkish television as it's presented on Netflix, there a certain obviousness to many of the productions. You can guess the arc of the series and then it's up to the crew and actors to hold your attention past the repeated story structures. Not so with Fatma here. Nothing is obvious, every episode is a surprise. Well directed, well written and, above all, the lead actress is amazing. A searing performance from Burcu Biricik. If there's only this season, that's enough.
