Don't watch late at night
havelock-5456220 April 2024
I've never been impelled to review a movie with 30 minutes remaining, but I waited until the end and I just can't justify the $6.99 I paid to rent this low budget movie.

I love sci-fi movies, but this is so very boring. No visuals, no suspense, and bad acting. Although probably intentional, this whole movie feels like it was made on a foggy day with car headlights for lighting in the background. Way too artsy for my taste. Some will love it, most will not. Personally, I couldn't wait until it was over and I could go to sleep. Time is precious. Don't waste your time.

I was hoping for a little sci-fi meets a little horror. Oh well.

Having stopped watching a movie before it ended in awhile.
thcrane-839618 April 2024
This is the 1st movie in awhile I just couldn't finish. Boring, bad lighting, hoping and praying the monster alien ( in theory, because seeing it is impossible) kills all of them. It's like being in a psychedelic sand storm with no ending in sight. At first, you think they've crash landed in water, because you can't tell. Then, the one astronaut obsessed with alien feces and can't stop digging through it and getting it all over her gloves is just way too gross. And then the "kids in space" really? Trying to get us to see a maternal side when this is space, enough already. Just way too long, nothing ever happens and you're wondering why you watched it.

Cheap and inferior copycat.
imseeg10 April 2024
Deep sigh. Believe me I really didnt want to review this movie, but it was SUCH a disappointment that I had to WARN others who might make the mistake to actually pay for this cheap and inferior copycat.

The bad: bring a search light, because this movie is SO incredibly sparsly lit (no pun intended) that you dont see much at all during the ENTIRE movie. Using dark lighting techniques is an effective way of covering up that there is no money available for good looking sets. But they went to the extreme with these dark looking sets. Terribly annoying to watch!

The really bad: let's forget about the fact that one cant see anyhting, let's judge what we CAN see in the dark and that is these actors trying to perform in HELMETS all the time. Oh man, does this look silly.

Please avoid. You have been warned. This is nothing more than a cheap and inferior copycat of other much better scifi movies.

Waste of film stock
preaypr6 May 2024
Just managed to make it through this steaming pile. Also just realised that it's released date was 1st April, which makes sense as it was a joke. A 4 key piano tune (if it qualifies as a tune) is supposed to convey suspense, terrible lighting meant at times I could ignore the picture completely and listen as I would do a radio play. I'd say the plot was terrible although I'm unsure it actually has one. I can see why some gave up before the end as I was tempted to leave it unfinished. If there was a budget for this then it was likely spent on smoke machines and torch batteries because that's all the effects this has to offer sadly.

Why?
xbladex-6494212 May 2024
I love SciFi movies. But after watching this, I'm not sure I want to waste my time EVER watching another. That's how bad this was. The back and forth half-communication to stir up drama was lacking. The plot, if you can call it that was subpar at BEST!! The story telling was choppy. After falling asleep in the movie, I rewound it to see what I missed, and I really could have just let it end. This was a waste of time and I literally had nothing else to do.

They want me to use 600 words minimum in my review in order for it to be posted. There's literally nothing else I can say about this movie.

Not just Sci-Fi - so much more...
roybishop-777054 April 2024
I liked this.

Too many films these days run at breakneck speed in a blur of unnecessary action shots and increasingly rely almost solely on CGI.

Here we have a clearly low budget (not that it shows) Science Fiction Story that concentrates on creating an intense atmospheric Alien world with good, well directed, actors slowly revealing a tense and emotional situation with plenty of surprises along the way.

You don't need to be a Sci-Fi Fan to appreciate the care and dedication that surely lies behind this production or to simply enjoy the ingenious writing - anyone and everyone should appreciate it but If you want to know more; I strongly suggest you click those buttons...

A thoroughly entertaining watch
mikewoollard13 April 2024
This is an intense psychological sci-fi movie about the difficult journey of a mother after crash landing on a dark alien world, having been separated from her young son during the crash. Needing to use light to search for him, knowing that the light draws the attention of the planets inhabitants, she has to try to find him.

The film is cleverly written, it keeps you guessing and feeling edgy throughout, with engaging performances from the main characters that drag you in through their plight and hope for resolution.

It's a movie well worth watching for any fans of sci-fi or psychological thrillers. Don't expect endless special effects to wow you, this is about the story. If you allow yourself to be immersed in this dark alien world, you'll be thoroughly entertained throughout.
