Brida's fully lost it
chantejade4 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Brida's fully lost the plot it seems. Why does she have so much anger ? I understand she lost Ragnar but she was a Saxon slave too at the beginning just like Uhtred, strange.

Wish the politics would be drummed down a bit, musics louder than usual also. Good episode though.

foolish episode with bad writing Warning: Spoilers
A very foolish episode , Danes cant just take a castle so easy .With such a huge army how can no one notice them coming ? And even if they manage to concer winchester how non of the warriors manage to just run back to mercia and inform ? And why didnt Haesten kill Uhtrend ?????? and how did Eadith managed to kill a viking ? the guys just went very closed and just said "lady?" and he got stabbed and did nothing? ? And even if we leave all of that behind King Edward cant be so stupid.... i mean even if we leave a 9 year old to control an army he will not rush like an idiot to the gate with no plan...and the door closed and he was waiting there doing nothing and even if he saw that the door closed and most of his men died he just order them to rush on the gate again ???????? ARE YOU SERIOUS ?

I think the writers forgot this is Historical fiction
rayanfielden2 May 2020
Not a soap opera. This is the first season where its obvious the writers stopped paying attention to the source material. Sure the many of the same plot points are there, but, just like Vikings, they have forgotten who this story is about, and the history that is trying to be covered.

The book emphasizes many historical truths. Battles are fought with shield walls, not haphazard running, not on horseback and bows and arrows alone would never win you anything. Roman walls are strong, and once behind them, fortresses can be held. It takes time to travel the country even on horseback.

This series has lost its way, because it breaks all the rules. Like Game of Thrones, everyone appears to be able to just teleport wherever whenever. Everyone just runs into everyone no matter how silly, and like they did with Tyrion, they have made Uhtred stupid for some reason. Also, he is a lord, he doesn't get ambushed because he travels with 50 men, not just his two buddies. Somehow, a small party of Danes does in 5 minutes what multiple great dane armies couldn't do throughout seasons 1 through 3. Total crap.

Oh damn, we need a war
Calicodreamin17 November 2021
It's like the writers got to mid season and forgot they didn't have an epic was planned so they hastily threw a concept together, and here we are. The storyline is weak and the motivations even weaker. How do these people keep finding each other in the middle of the woods?!

Ivar the boneless
GouthamPrabu9 December 2020
Sigtryggr is said to be a kin of Ivar the boneless at 12:22 ! is this series related to Viking series ? in fandom page says Sigtryggr is a norse-gael viking warlord and Uhtred's son-in-law, through marriage to Stiorra. He is the great-grandson of Ivar the Boneless and the great-nephew to Ubba and Halfdan.

Worst episode by far
HellenKeller482 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Ive been a huge fan of this show since 2015, but this episode left me shaking my head not really caring to watch the last episode. So many things were so far fetched, Heiston not killing Uhtred and his men, leaving them hanging upside down with 2 men... 1 which a small Saxon girl kills with ease with a dagger where he does nothing to fight back. Then she walks into a freshly sacked Wessex, cleavage showing without be (dishonored) by the bloodthirsty heathens who just let her prance on by (remember what happened to Hilde in season 1). Edward who showed some intellectual prowess in season 3, making terrible choices to take back Wessex. Sigh. Writers/directors must have been in a rush for this one.

What has happened to this show
paulrbirty2 May 2020
Bad acting , bad writing, bad review. This show is a shadow of its former self. The writers need to know something about what they are trying to push down our throats. Not this whimsical , fantasy, p.c. trash.
