As a fan of the 90's show I was a little disheartened when I heard they put Darkwing Duck as a show within the show but in the back of my mind it always bugged me how they never mentioned the character by "Drake Mallard". This episode sets up a Darkwing Duck spinoff that I would run in for and brings out the kid in me.

Darkwing Duck Returns

If you wait long enough then you get to find out what the writers have planned.
I was always a darkwing duck fan. And this was a great origin story story of both the hero and villain.
Darkwing - Drake mallard with a great transition from taking it back from a tv show. Voiced by Chris Diamantopoulos who did a great job bring Drake back.
Jim Cummings return here was great also bring to life Negaduck and watching this multiple times to see the changes throughout the show.
This makes me think that a Darkwing spin off could be possible.
We have the spark of rival Gizmoduck. We have an origin story simular to the old sceries. Putting it in to ducktales could give us a webbyl/goslin team up adventure.
I miss the old Megavolt, but this was an actor so a villain could get a comeback. I just miss that villain who was just a bit crazy. There are so many places this could go with Agent 23 and some of the villains already introduced.
This episode like others has a ton of references as easter eggs. If there is a downfall to the episode would be the story being a mixture of a lot of shows before it. But it takes a lot of good writing to mix them all together and keeping true to these characters.

The thing is, I was never a fan of Darkwing Duck. I knew the show when I was a kid but I never found it amusing. Just ok. I was not a ducktales fan also, but this maybe was a result of the fact that it did not broadcast for enough time in my country, just for a short one.
Still, I was a great fan of mickey mouse, donald duck and scrooge mcduck universe of comics (even today I still buy and have a great collection). When I learnt about the reboot and the fact that elements of the comics would be included I was super excited and when it was released I really loved it. Great work. But the interestingly interesting part is that my two favorite episodes so far are the first two episodes in which Darkwing Duck made an appearance. This is amazing. It is very well made. Of course, I still don't love Darkwing (I grew up with the comics in which donald duck is the duck avenger/paperinik avenger superhero so I shall always be rooting from him to become a regular member of Ducktales and I know that Darkwing stands in his way - too many heroes maybe) but this episode was amazing. How darkwing materialised from the old tv show, how negaduck also appeared. Really brilliant! (Still hope you make room for Paperinik you guys. I won't give up on him!!)
