I love when Felix and Miriam stage a purse snatching in the park with Oscar as the mugger. The subway part is funny also. I like this so much.

FELIX AND OSCAR UNWELCOME IN NYC

Series writer Mark Rothman wrote this hilarious episode, soon to create the female ODD COUPLE, Laverne and Shirley. The question of the day: IS New York City really that unfriendly? Tag it a 50/50. Felix drags Oscar with him to prove there's good in everyone, both appropriately getting stuck in a stalled subway with a host of distant characters --really distant.
This episode features some super talent, such as Scatman Crothers as a "supposedly" blind gent with a seeing-eye dog. Comedian Billy Sands is on board as a guy who is willing to sell stuff to Felix. Why not make a buck? Jerry Seinfeld's future dad, Barney Martin, appears as a passenger, and always fun to watch. Look for producer Gary Marshall as an obnoxious guy (always one in the bunch).
Rothman put in some funny bits; Felix introduces himself to the stranded passengers and becomes the subway MC. Best bit is Felix making a handpuppet out of a handkerchief --and interviewing Oscar? Good luck with that. There is a bright spot, bringing one and all together... Crother's dog, who appears to be sick, actually is due to have puppies. Surprise! This episode goes by fast and we will never forget Harvey the talking hanky. SEASON 5 remastered ABC/Paramount dvd box set.

Oscar prints an article making jokes about crime ridden New York and rude inhabitants. Felix tries to prove him wrong.
There are many funny scenes as Felix and Oscar go through the streets of New York and are met with insults, garbage and indifference. When they get trapped in the subway, Felix tries again. Funniest scenes are when Felix makes a hand puppet out of his handkerchief,calling it Harvey Hanky. Garry Marshall plays a nasty,wisecracking subway customer and Scatman Crothers is phony blind panhandler.
