After the abysmal mess of episode 13 I'm glad to be back on familiar ground with another serial killer tale.
This one is carried with a fantastic performance by Jeremy Roberts as the Hannibal-esque psycho killer in maximum security.
The scene between the killer and Frank Black in the isolated room - man to man - is the highlight. The intensity is palpable and both men give a fierce performance as they test each other's wills.
I love the idea of the hunter deliberately testing himself by becoming the hunted. It's a neat idea.
The final scene is eerie and strange with the lights finally going off - I guess it could be interpreted in different ways. He finally has the darkness that he's been craving and yet he hums to himself the fluorescent hum that's become part of the background of his existence - symbolising the fact that he is a mental prisoner and can never escape his fate or find redemption now. He is left to torture himself within the endless corridors of his own psyche.
