Father Dowling and Sister Steve want to help Carol a lady that lives in a big historical house who has been traumatized by the death of her father.

She misses her father and starts seeing his apparition in the house. He talks to her and tells her what to do...

Carol see a psychiatrist Dr. Latimer who wants her to re-live everything that happened in the house that scared her. He knows she is so scared it might just push her over the edge. He tells her it is better to remember.

During the story Father Dowling and Sister Steve go to the house to stay overnight with Carol there. Things are starting to look suspicious.

Later it is revealed that the house is very historical and a gangster also lived there a long time ago. He buried something in the house.

Father Dowling feels there are people that want to buy the house and get Carol out with any means they can.

The story goes on................ Youtube...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJkWxefsRe0

Spooky episode

A parishioner is being haunted by the ghost of her dead father. Frank, Steve and even Father Prestwick get involved in trying to find out who is terrorizing the poor woman and why.

Tom Bosley is quite an underrated actor, who has a distinctive style, and a great resume. Happy Days, Murder, she wrote to name a few, and of course, he had his own mystery series a la Murder, she wrote as Father Dowling, a crime fighting priest. His assistant in solving crime -and nun - is Sister Stevie ( played by Tracy Nelson, the daughter of Ricky Nelson).

In this episode they are helping a woman in regard of seeing vision of her dead father. It's a spooky episode with whispering voices and ghostly apparition. Plus you got Nan Martin as a creepy housekeeper- it got some good atmosphere, but it's just ok, and is diverting enough.

The Ghost of a Chance Mystery

Carol Van Horn is a distraught young woman after the death of her father.

Living in a large old mansion, she has visions of her late father. She has been seeing a psychiatrist Dr Latimer. His treatment though might just push her over the edge.

Father Dowling and Sister Steve want to help. They think these apparitions could be holographic. Father Philip Prestwick thinks an exorcism might be needed when he sees what appears to be something ghostly.

However given the historical nature of Carol's house. It used to be owned by a gangster. Father Dowling believes there is an earthly explanation to all this.

Plain old greed especially as a real estate developer has previously expressed an interest in buying the house. Maybe there is something valuable hidden in the house.

With holographic images, these things were all the rage back in the mid 80s onwards on television shows. Automan was an example.

It still took a few decades for holographs to really come into fruition like the Abbatars. Even then it costs millions.

It was a neat touch for Father Prestwick's entrance to the house to mimic that of Max von Sydow in the Exorcist.
