And it is prom time!Steve comes to prom for the first time with a date: the beautiful Myra. And Laura comes with a guy who tries to forbid her to be friends with Steve Urkel because he is jealous. But luckily Laura stands up for herself (and maybe not just herself!)

I really like the friendship between Laura and Urkel. They has some beautiful moments in this episode. First of all the scene where Steve invites her to the prom because Laura misses him doing it and he misses hearing her say "no". And then of course the great ending when they hug, and I don't for a moment believe that her dumping her date had nothing to do with Steve!

There's something about watching Steve and Laura that gets me emotional. After viewing this episode again, I realized it was the friendship they had. I also believe that Laura really did love Steve. Laura's prom date is an idiot that looked old enough to be her father. He orders her to "dump the nerd." Laura lashes back with passion. She says: "Nobody tells me who I can or can not see." Interesting. Was she "seeing" Steve? The last scene is possibly the greatest Steve-Laura moment. Steve prods her about why she stood up for him. She tries to minimize what happened, but she can't. What's in her heart is showing. The hug they share says it all.
